i recently purchased m6 and don't fully understand editing audio. i asked the question before and was explained to me i had to use a musampla to edit. i can't figure this out. i come from daws like traction 6 and mixcraft 7 , so i generally edit audio in their lanes. as an example, if i pulled out one of my loops from the browser, how do i load it into a sampler? and how would i edit this? i have watched every video i can find. also, is this more of a midi daw where most people don't use instruments to record?

anybody??

Please elaborate on what you exactly want to do.

Post

let's say i have a 10 second drum loop. i would like to be able to have the ability to split the loop, reverse a part, slow down a small part. etc. i know this is not possible to do dragging it into the sequencer, or composer veiw like a traditional daw. but how do i drag a loop, like the example given, into the sampler? then, where is the options to achieve this? i'm sorry i,m having a little difficulty with this. thanks.

Doesn't this video answer your question:

thank you. i did see that video. i assumed you had a way to edit audio in the wave form.i just have to learn this way.

If you start like in the video and enter the piano roll editor (0:42 in the video), righ click in the editor and select "Edit Sample".
There is your audio editor.
Edit your start and end markers, move/delete/create markers however you see necessary and finish the editing with a right click. Select "Update Sliced Sample Part"

You can, as well, drag a sample into a Musampla, double click on the wave to enter the audio editor, create markers as required and finish things with "Creat Sliced Sample Part".
To reverse a slice, in that newly created MultiSampla, locate your slice and use the current end marker number for start and the start marker for the end. Done.

thank you so much! that makes sense to me!

i watched and understood the video, but my question is what do i do if i am importing an audio file from my loop library? i can't click open sample loop. i have to open my loop in load audio file. how do i load this file into a mu multisampla?

Post

First of all lets distinguish the difference between audio streams and samples, pls see:
http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/common ... mples.html

So if you import an audio file and stream it from the composer (you see the audio waveform) then this cannot be used into the (multi-)sampler. You can (also) load that audio as a sample and then you can use it in the (multi)-sampler.

For more info on the multi-sample editor, see:
http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/mux/mu ... ditor.html

Hope this helps.

thank you. so, mulab doesn't edit audio in the more traditional ways as, say cubase, or sonar? if that is the case, is there a chance this will be implemented in a future release? i love your daw because it forces me to be creative in a different way, but being primarily a guitar player, it is immensely easier to edit audio on the timeline itself.

Yes you can split, move, copy audio parts around in the composer. Give it a try. Yes audio part handling can be further improved, that's indeed on the wishlist.

Post

is reverse an audio part possible on the composer?

Post

Not yet.

Post

thank you. i look forward to m7 and purchasing it!
