LinPlug Plugins Alpha 3, Octopus, Organ 3, relectro and RMV discontinue and final sale

Could anyone tell what are RMV highlights ?

I'm quite excited by it, but there is not much raving reviews about it on the net... MusicRadar points out some little quirks, and finds the library a bit disappointing...
As far as drumsynthesis go, how good is it ?
How is the workflow ?
And, for a Geist and Drumatic4 user, is there any interest to grab it ?

I own Drumatic4 and I'm allways interested in new drum synth. I downloaded RMV demo after years and tried it but it seems, that RMV still does not love my PC and vice versa...

I just realized that Linplug made the good old CM505 drumsynth, which i still like a lot : it sounds thick, cold in a good way. I think they (hopefully) used the same engine for their drumsynth parts (and expanded it).

Discontinued or not, RMV is a heck of a lot of plug-in for $20. Also all the loop content can be opened in an external editor and saved as .wav or whatever ....if that is your thing.

Not surprised about Octopus as its principle developer is MIA but it still sucks that it was not developed further as it's quite unique.

I went to https://www.facebook.com/LinPlug?fref=nf then I clicked to purchase Alpha 3. I don't have Share it account, but I filled New Customer fields including credit card details ..etc then clicked Next. In the Review and Submit stage, I filled the question about PC VST or MAC AU, then hit "Buy Now", it refreshed the page but stayed in the same stage (Review and Submit) without error, didn't reach the "Finished" stage though!!
There is no email or anything else! So, have I purchased it or not!

I'm using Chrome, but is it this the problem?

Yes you get an email. I've used it 3 times over the last 6 days and had an email as soon as I've clicked the confirm to buy button.

I was planning to purchase Organ 3 during the holiday sales period later this year, but purchased it today at the reduced price. Luckily, I waited because I almost purchase Organ 3 on Friday.

With the exception of Relectro, I own all of Linplug products recent VSTs and most of their older products as well. I absolutely love RMV, Octopus and Alpha 3 and hate the see them leave the active Linplug product line up. Hopefully, like Cronox 3 and Albino 3, the recently discontinued VSTs will continue to work for years to come.

Organ 3 doesn't get much love because it's not as realistic a B-3 emulation as B4 or VB3, but it's great for making weird organ-ish (or even non-organ-ish) sounds. Hope it keeps working for a long time....

Yeah I might get it actually, I seem to remember that it was very good for the more spaced out type of organ sounds (Pink Floydy stuff).

Well Organ 3 is my favourite organ actually, I always hated B4 and VB3, precisely because I could use O3 so mux more flexibly, like a synth, yet with the organ sound. And the sound is exactly what I want and need, and considering I can actually process it through other rotary emulators, it makes that combo much more potent than B4/VB3.

YES! I love the sounds in CM-505. It's a very easy to use drum synth with mostly just the necessities, but a great sound for that analog drums feel (well, analog-ish). I kept asking them if they'd ever make a 64-bit version, but they kept suggesting I just buy the more advanced product based on it. I checked it out and decided it was way more complicated than I wanted, so wasn't interested. I tried to create a sampled version of a CM-505 kit I liked in Ultrabeat (which I hate the GUI of), so I could port the project to Logic, and it sounds similar to the original but not as dynamic. I probably should just have printed the track from Sonar and be done with it, but I wanted editable MIDI in case I wanted to change the drumming patterns. Now I see CM-505 works on OS X on Intel? I thought it was Mac OS 9 only or OS X PPC only. Still, Logic X doesn't support 32-bit plugins, so it's still of limited lifespan on modern computers.

FreeAlpha got some use in my projects too. Was rather difficult to recreate patches from FreeAlpha in FreeAlpha 3, though.

Sad to see good products get retired. Vintage software doesn't have the future that vintage hardware gets. Vintage hardware can be repaired. Some people even develop custom parts for vintage gear. Software? Total loss once your OS isn't compatible.

Hmmm, linplug website hosed for me at present.. tried safari and firefox with all ad blockers disabled, and i can see the five main products, but without absolutely any way to buy. There also used to be a link to a page with downloads.. can't find anything at the moment, it's all a mess here. There used to be a link to send lost serials, disappeared too.

Yeah , it looks like the site has gone a bit wonky. Searching for CRX4 in google throws up incorrect error 404 links, and when you navigate through the main page the download demo link for all versions gives you the mac version, which is a bit naff as I'm on windows.

Anyone got the CRX4 by any chance? The lure of the sound library + all the patch-banks (if what is stated earlier is correct) is tempting for the price. Is it worth getting if you already have Spectral, Iris2 and Tal- Sampler?

These all sound like keepers aside from Relectro. I think that one could easily be replaced by your personal choice of Sugar Bytes plugins.
