Dry input level reaching 0 db when strumming the guitar very hard, would this be correct?
I would think that's way too hot personally. Your converters probably want a lower signal. Check out the documentation on your interface to see what the reference level for your converters is and target that. Once you get the best possible signal into your computer, you can use the input trim, a gain plugin, or a stomp box in the amp sim to drive the amp harder if needed.

Thanks. I'm actually transitioning to line 6 plus cabinet impulses / on top of the cabinets in podfarm. Still using the rest of the setup that I had, just adding pod farm amps and NadIR at the end. Well, it's going so-so..I'll post again when the new experiment is done.

Well, Pod Farm is my favorite at the moment. I guess I'm starting to figure it out: https://soundcloud.com/spacekid1-1/charles-beast

Feel free to ask about anything I used here :hyper:

^ Pod farm is completely better when used as modules inside Reaper. I added IR's after the cab in pod farm and just mixed and matched them. Trying to get a good sound out of pod farm standalone is not happening.

Are You using x64 or x 32?

I'm using X64 on a windows 10 system. It never worked properly until I upgraded to 10. It wouldn't save any settings, so I'm just now discovering it. I just did a comparison 'song' with revalver 4, take a listen. The preset is up at the revalver forum-"A RAIN A". I think I may hold off on buying more pod farm stuff and wait for the Revalver amp profiler to spend my money on. OH but as far as impulses go, the ones from ownhammer match up nicely to the cabs in pod farm, I tried rosen IR's also, but they didn't mix as well as the ones I have to shovel through to get the 'one' -ownhammer. https://soundcloud.com/spacekid1-1/a-rain-a

How is a lower A/D input signal beneficial to anything? As long as your dynamics do no not clip the analog input stage, isn't higher always better?

Space kid, You're using x64 Podfarm plugin?

Yes. I just purchased it a week ago. I installed everything into one folder, but in Reaper the 32 bit icon doesn't show up on the task bar, so I'm sure it's using 64 bit.

I'm a fan of GTR3 from Waves. The only other thing I reach for sometimes is Sans Amp... sometimes that's all that I need, I end up using it quite a bit... but when I wanna dig in further or model cabs / etc, I'm workin with GTR3 (stomps or cabs, depending)

Pretty awesome with Bass too.... CLA76 and GTR3 ... man, MoTown or SuperTube Bass, followed by CLA76 is nutty... my go to for bass, on anything....

As far as guitars go... totally depends... there's SO MANY sounds in there... nothing I haven't been able to find a killer sound for.

I like gtr3, especially the efx.

Cool Tek, not what I do, but sounds great for what it is.

Didn't know they ever made a Pod-like thing, but I knew people who were in love with their combos. The Pod-thing is nice and cheap now too.

Lots of options out there...

Do you use it to gig or jam with other people? If so, what's the rest of your rig?

Sounds cool. I found a youtube video of it. I think I can get revalver to sound like it. I tried to do a preset like it today, but I ended up with the perfect 'My Bloody Valentine" sound. It wasn't what I was after but I'll take it. Peavey should put out a manual on adjusting the amp insides..it's a steep learning curve. kind of a straight up wall to climb. Especially because so few people are even trying to put presets up on their forum. I'm like the complete page or two at the Revalver forum, but that's why I'm getting better at it.
