How are these AU's working? There will be no update from Linplug.

I agree about the best $20 spent on software. The lack of a sequencer doesn't bother me. I tend to use my host for drum sequencing. The RMV GUI would have been more cluttered...zlatan wrote:RMV is THE deal ! Too bad it doesn't have a sequencer![]()
Probably the best $20 dollars I've ever spent on software.
This got me thinking, for some reason I have really lucked out on my "Beat machines" over the years in terms of the price that I paid for them.
$20 for RMV, $50 for Geist special edition a while back during a silly sale (includes the BFD Remix library which retails for $29), $13 for Drumaxx, Attack LE for free (A giveaway). Basically, I paid $83 for Geist + a free Geist library + RMV + Drumaxx + Attack LE. Good times

I don't know about Blue/Blue II really (only demoed them), but if I compare with FM8, then I like FM8 more both in sound and design. It also uses much less cpu (Unison as well).Caine123 wrote:how is OCTOPUS compared to BLUE?
I didn't like the "Seq" section in Octopus. I tried to double click to write a number, but no! Clicking and dragging is also not done well, and no mouse wheel support! IMO it is not fun to program at all (the Seq section). But the Synth can produce a very nice sounds, with two matrices available to see at once. For this price, it's still a no brainer buy. Now, if I have FM8 (sold it), or Blue II, I don't think I will buy Octupus really, but I don't have any FM synth, so it is a good buy for me
I prefer RMV more than Geist! The reason is it has tons of Midi patterns and more kits than Geist. I also prefer the DAW sequencer because it gives more control over the position/length of the notes (Studio One or Reaper in my case).zlatan wrote:RMV is THE deal ! Probably the best $20 dollars I've ever spent on software.
Anyway, between Transfuser and RMV, I prefer Transfuser both in sound and workflow. The downside of Transfuser it doesn't show the kit samples names in the DAW, but it is built in sequencer of course. I got Transfuser also for about $30 (in a bundle), so both (RMV and Transfuser) are the best value for money beat makers I had ever bought !! (Oh there are also Strike and Impact! So I'm in beats heaven now
Alpha is a great buy IMO. Easy to program and can produce great sounds (it has some soul from Albino IMO). I don't have a similar synth in structure to compare it with, but the nearest I have is Hybrid 3.
I compared the two (not so fair for Alpha I know) and Hybrid 3 is far more capable because of the variety of filters and wavetables nature as well. But, for a quick nice sounds with big comfortable interface, Alpha is hard to beat! I'm so happy to buy it and at this price, it is unbelievable bargain
Still, the main one that led to purchasing the above three, is Relectro! It was the first one in my list and the most one I needed it! Great effect! I love it really!
I didn't know how to midi learn the parameters, but because it is an effect, I needed to insert an 'instrument' in S1 and direct the output to the 'relectro' effect which was inserted in one of the instruments. I then 'monitor' both tracks for signal input, then I could midi learn the parameters to my midi controller
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I bought it for the hell of it .. I have Geist , Tremor , Mtonic , Elecktoid and just sold Nerve , so I wasn't expecting much.Apostate wrote:You've got me curious now.zlatan wrote:RMV is THE deal ! Too bad it doesn't have a sequencer![]()
Probably the best $20 dollars I've ever spent on software.
Then ... while testing it I was surprised how great it sounds (especially the synth section) and how userfriendly/inspiring it is.
If it had a sequencer like Elecktoid or the Fxpansion ones it would easily be my #1 Drum plugin.

Linplug shouldn't retire these. Just keep them at a permanently lowered price, and that'll really get a lot of customers.
There's a ton of other smaller companies out there, keeping products up for well over a decade, some of who haven't even updated it for 5 or more years. There's absolutely no reason to discontinue something. Someone can always use/learn from these instruments, they are "pro" quality and should be available indefinitely. Once features are stabilized, there's no need to support them with constant updates. Yearly updates for these would be much better. A list of things builds up, gets fixed, product lives indefinitely! Everyone is happy.
It's not like Windows is breaking compatibility with every update. Mac might be a different story though.
For example Organ 3, once it goes, there'll be absolutely no non-sample based organs on the market, except for the limited VB3.
Bad strategy, due to bad marketing, which creates a bad situation for customers and musicians.

Keeping them on the price list maintains the expectation of support that might not be feasible in the long run versus the limited money the products can bring in. Every year you have new host versions as well as OS changes that can potentially break compatibility. Imagine the sh**tshow if a dev selling an active product turns round and says "well, we were only going to support it for stuff that was around at the time of the price cut and for relatively easy fixes".
It's simpler and cleaner to simply discontinue stuff. I'm sure there will be secondhand licences floating around afterwards, particularly after this sale.

You need to enable the 'ECS' button above the mod-wheel (on Relectro) to do midi-learn. Unless I've misunderstood you.EnGee wrote:I didn't know how to midi learn the parameters, but because it is an effect, I needed to insert an 'instrument' in S1 and direct the output to the 'relectro' effect which was inserted in one of the instruments.
