[Solved]

I just installed 64 Bit DIVA 1.3.1 on a Win 7 64 Bit system. Installed as Admin, installed the Data folder in Users/Documents and the .dll in C:/VST Plugins not in the Programs Folder. All permissions seem to be ok.
DIVA will load and play but simply loading DIVA and trying to close SONAR causes it to trap the Midi and Audio drivers and a re-boot is required.
Something I'm doing wrong ? I've got three other DAWs on that system to try. I'll post how it goes in them.....

No I haven't tried that yet. 1.3.1 is crashing all 4 DAWS on that system so I think it's something I've done wrong. Do you see anything wrong with the install configuration ? I have full permissions in the Documents folder but it is still tagged as Read Only.

Hmmm, I'm the wrong person to ask - I've been out of the loop with installation issues for a while. Either Rob or Viktor can chime is or maybe send an email to support at u-he dot com

can you send us a ticket to support[at]u-he.com ?
We'll take a closer look.
In the meantime, could you also install the latest versions from the beta thread here on kvr?
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 1&t=446491
And send me your findings with your email? That'd be great.

Ok I think I've got it.....I was using a modified version of the Boutique theme from LFO8 which did load but was done on a newer version of DIVA than the release version.
I selected another older theme from Gianfranco and it did not cause the crash. Switching between the default and that theme works fine. Trying to switch from the Boutique to the Default causes the crashes. Only when I removed the Boutique theme and forced the default to load did the crashes stop so that's got to be it.........
Now that I've switched to the default skin everything seems to be working fine ( except for patch naming in Sonar even with keystrokes to plugin selected but I seem to remember this is a known issue ? I'll check back with this later).
Anyway I'll hold off on the support ticket for now. I've downloaded the latest build (I assume it's stable and safe to use ?). I've got to run out for awhile but when I get back I'll install the latest version and see how things go from there.
Thanks for your help and support ! I'll check back later when I get home...........can't wait to dig into DIVA.
EDIT: Ok I've installed the latest Beta and all is functioning perfectly. (awesome beta)

EDIT2: Oh and I see the Sonar Keystrokes to Plugin issue is known and is Sonar's fault. Anybody find a solution or workaround ?

Did you read the thread ? How many people are likely to encounter the same issue?2ZrgE wrote:Thank god you changed the topic title as it is solved for you, and surely no one else will ever have this problem.
Anyway you managed to respond to the thread title [Solved] so I guess others can as well.
I just changed the title so U-HE personnel wouldn't waste any more time with it.......it's not an uncommon practice on forums.
EDIT: Oh in case you missed it the original thread title was "DIVA Crashing Sonar X3" which is inaccurate. It was the fact that I was using a skin created in the latest beta in the last release version so it wasn't DIVA's fault at all. I doubt many people will install a third party skin and use it first thing after installing DIVA so I don't think changing the thread title is a bad idea.

It's a rather stupid practice, because forums are a public place, not a service channel for egoists. BTW haven't you forget to lock the thread?Teksonik wrote:

So first you're upset because I changed the thread title and now you're upset because it's not locked. I'm sorry but did I miss the part where you've taken over KVR from Ben ?
I'll leave the thread open so you'll have a place to vent your petty complaints.....I'm sure your therapist will appreciate it.....
If U-HE wants the thread locked or deleted that's fine with me........
