I'm just not too fond of your stereotyping...

Call it stereotyping if you want, i don't mind... You've got the right to say whatever you fancy, as far as i am concerned...
But being someone who lived in a dozen different countries when he grew up, and being now in England for the best of the past 21 years, i noticed a few differences between all of those places in the way people interract.
Not generalizing, of course...
What i mean is you call it stereotyping (which sounds rather negative), i call it cultural differences... And there is nothing wrong with those in my view...
It's not what you use, it's how you use it...

'Too British' is a generalization though... But I can see what you meant.

Again, being often descibed as such doesn't mean at all that the whole population actually behaves that way... Aaargh... You get my point anyway ☺

I hope Krim comes back. I think he often takes pokes at deserving targets.

In order to be reinstated, I think he would need to apologize to D.H. Miltz but somehow apologies seem un-Krim-like.
Karmatba did the exact same thing and got let back like a month later.
Meanwhile some petty individuals try to take advantage of the situation by dragging those who have paid their debt to society into a fubar that has nothing to do with them. Seems they will try to push forward their vendetta any chance they get.Luckily they seem to be at a loss when trying to enlist allies in their attempt to besmirch me, unlike Kriminal who stuck up for me on occasion. BTW it's Karma_tba not Karmatba or arkmabat...Rat KaBam would be a more relevant anagram!

Dunno about "more words", more like better at using them eloquently.
Agreed. I'm not going to miss Kriminal, though I wasn't at odds with him (that I know of). But I'd miss Whyterabbyt. He's better at reeling someone in who's ranting off a cliff... ;-)

If you do the crime.. you do the time.

Sounds like he was asking for it.

How can you ban someone from a forum, surely they just come back with a different user name?

I have read some but not all the posts in this thread and I didn't witness the incident, but I hope to offer some perspective from my 20 years of participation in online forums. Things seem important in relation to a community like KVR. In the grand scheme of things, problems in an online forum really mean very little. Also as others have pointed out, in a written medium, things like sarcasm and cultural differences can be easily misunderstood. It is easy to get offended when offense was not intended. And if offense was intended, how much does it really matter?

I understand the argument was in the Charity thread and no one wants people put off, but there are other methods of resolving the issue. Correct me if I am wrong, but the offending posts can be (and perhaps have been) removed. The software should be able to block individuals from certain threads. Also there is the suspension option which has been used before.

The bottom is that this is an online forum and as such it only has limited importance. Nothing that happens here is worth banning someone for life. Take a breath and think about it.
This space has been unintentionally left blank.

For some people post count/registration date is very important, as the old saying goes "Remember kids, the higher your post count, the bigger your penis"! :clown:
