Hi. I deleted an edit in error from T6. It still shows in my Tracktion song file on my hard drive. Is there a way to recover it?

Post

What I would try:

1) create new edit
2) click on the edit and in the properties panel go to 'file'
3) click on the button next to the name and select 'choose a different clip to refer to'
4) select the deleted edit.

Thanks frankvg, but it does not appear to work.

I think Frank is going in the right direction.

Just to see where you're at
1. Are you on Windows or OSX or Linux?
2a. If it's Windows, look in the Recycle bin. I've just created and deleted an Edit and it went into the Recycle bin. If it's there, right-click its name and select Restore. That should put it back into the project folder. If you're not in Windows, or if this didn't work, let us know. It's worked for me so far.
2b. If it's Linux or OSX wait for someone else to give you instructions.
3. Create a new Edit for the project (either with the new tab + or via the Properties panel on the Projects page). The new Edit will probably open. If it does, just close it.
4. On the Projects page, highlight the new Edit.
5. In the Properties panel, where it says File, click the dots at the end of the filename and choose your restored file (either highlight it and click Open or double-click it).
6. Now double-click the Edit name in the Edits list to open it, as usual.
7. Run round the room a few times.

Hope you got to 7.

If you emptied your recycle bin there is a free program called Recuva by Piriform ( The Ccleaner people ) that can retrieve files from your HD.
