Geez, I love this sequencer!!, it's a pure delight to use now that I've carved a dozen tunes out using it. I'd love to hear from Tracktioneers what they rate their #1 reason for sticking with the old T.
It simply does not get in the way of my music.

I tend not to even think about my "environment", I'm too busy enjoying the composing and arranging process.

Man, I could never go back to the old school way of doing things.

I came from Sonar 3 Producer (very expensive) to Tracktion and I can't think of any reason I'd go back.

The amazingly fast and intuitive workflow is definitely my #1 reason as well. I can't believe how fast I can get ideas down and try different things without losing creative momentum.

It's further illustrated by this; I was playing one of my (hardware) synths a few days ago. My synths are a little way from my desk so using the computer at the same time involves much wheeling of chair left and right. I hit on a nice little improv and wanted to record it, so I got my wife to boot Tracktion and record it for me. She'd never used T before but it took very little explanation for her to get the idea and be able to record the midi, split the clip to trim off the silence, record a few different variations on different tracks, rename the clips so I remembered what preset I was using, etc, etc.

I didn't need convincing of how good T was, but even I didn't expect it to provide a free studio assistant - now that's value for money!! ;-)

I came from Cubase and the number one thing I hated was losing pages behind others. Like the midi programming page or mixer. That will never happen in Tracktion.

The often available updates.... :-o
Could not resist...

More seriously, the everything on one screen, the use of the mouse wheel, the drag and drop every thing...
OK maybe rob said it better "the speed of working"....

I hear you, having everything on 3 tabs feel better than I would've expected. I feel more "in control" than I ever felt with Cubase. It also makes T feel more reliable... it's somehow... non-MS Windows :?:

I wonder how many of you fully appreciate the insert filter/linear mixing concept... It's just so bloody quick & easy it hurts.

I'm still a T newbie, but so far rather happy :) combined with eXT, I'm on a new level of flexibility.

And let's face it, the price is pretty neat as well...

the filter structure; drag, drop, re-arrange, no-limits yada yada.

though the liddle animated arrow on the input icons runs a close second.

I agree - freeze was what got me interested in T. Great for easily stuffing away ready tracks to free up resources.

But there are loads of other good reasons as well - I constantly find myself pleased after discovering some new feature.

For me, I switched to Tracktion because it was incredibly stable compared to the software I had previously been using. I suffered crashes quite often, and couldn't throw a ton of effects on things without my computer totally locking up.

With Tracktion, I never have ANY problems. It's like a dream. It feels so smooth, clean, and reliable.

Albeit, I was using some pretty cheap software, but that doesn't change the fact that Tracktion blows it out of the water.

single interface, context based navigation with lots of wheely mouse action, the way audio clips work (with the ability to apply "filters" to individual clips), and those damn racks. This stuff keeps me from going astray....

I second the wheely mouse action part. I also like shiny things.
