There are both Midi Files (.mi4) that trigger samples loaded in the Pads and Audio Loops (.RM_V_Loop and .d4t files) that load in the Loop Tabs.Astralv wrote:Thank you for the video. So the loops are not in MIDI? I thought loops were MIDI files that would play samples on the pads...

So, while I so do not need RMV, I bought it anyway. It is one hell of a deal for e very flexible plugin. I have to wonder what LinPlug has coming next, RMVI?

I hope so. I'd love an RM VI. To be honest I'm a bit worried about Linplug.......

I dunno, it could be good sign they are refocusing efforts on fewer products. I want a Saxlab3. This could be what gives them the bandwidth to make that happen.

Yes it could be a good sign but I get a funny feeling about their latest activity. This was at the Linplug forum:braj wrote:I dunno, it could be good sign they are refocusing efforts on fewer products. I want a Saxlab3. This could be what gives them the bandwidth to make that happen.

I'm probably just being paranoid but sometimes you get a gut feeling.....and sometimes you're wrong so......
At any rate I wish Linplug all the best. They've been here since I first loaded Gakstoar Alpha and Peter has always been a gentleman and pillar of the community. I hope Linplug will be around for a long time to come.
I also hope they will focus on new products like an RM VI......

I doubt they would have revamped their website if they were winding down.
My guess is that the products on sale are being discontinued because the effort required to bring them up to data with scalable GUIs and support for the latest OSs is just more effort than the revenue they bring in can support.
I'm still puzzled about Alpha though - it got a thorough overhaul only last year with a scalable GUI and updated preset browser and presets. Seems a shame to drop it when it would still fit nicely into their current product line.

Anyhow... using RMV right now and I was really impressed with the little adjustment for the ramp in the envelopes, it's really organic to change it, and many more plugins could use that sort of feature. It is 'elegant' design.

more than happy to make room for these gems in my stable....mr athmospheric alone was worth the price of ORGAN3...what a beautiful odd-duck of a mutant piano-pad that is!!! these plugs aren't just useful, they are a historical record of one of the truly great virtual-instrument companies which ever existed which, gladly, appears ready to keep-rolling (SPECTRAL is currently one of my favorite synths to go get lost in...what a gorgeous beast that is). i still need to get RELECTRO....and yeah those price-drops. THANK YOU LINPLUG!!!
i used to always push the envelope...until someone showed me a letter-opener.

Totally agree about Organ 3! What a fun instrument and awesome extension upon the basic "organ" idea!
Also got Alpha 3 and love the presets so far, and I'm sure the programming will be a breeze.
I passed on Octopus because I just recently bought Spectral, and it has FM among its many other capabilities, so I felt I should just focus on learning Spectral, a very deep synth, for now. Spectral is an amazing sounding item, for those who don't mind paying full price for something!
I am totally out of the "beats making" loop (an unintentional pun!), but the relectro demos sounded so cool I am sorely tempted!

BTW - the channels for the three keyboard decks of Organ 3 are always like this:
Top keyboard: A
Lower keyboard: A+1
Pedals: A+2
So, if you have the midi channel set to channel 1 in the settings, that means the top keyboard is on channel 1, the lower keyboard is on channel 2 and the pedals are on channel 3. If you have the midi channel set to 16, then the top keyboard is on 16, the lower keyboard is on 1, and the pedals are on 2.
I hope that was clear - it tripped me up a little at first, so I thought I'd mention it.

Tried Octopus, well, very pity that almost nothing not able for automation, it's available only for FX and filter section. But for FM matrix, envelope matrix, waveform section - unfortunately, although it would get the true weapon. But bought anyway, interesting tool.
[EDIT]
But very good that implemented pan for each osc, significant plus.
