Hi!
I having problems dragging knobs and sliders when the preferences Setting is set to Knobs ...
1. I can't left click drag any of the knobs properly. Any attempt to do so causes them to move clockwise and then freeze at the end of their travel. I can't drag the knobs counter clockwise at all. The only way I can set the value is to use the mouse wheel or type it in.
2. I can't left click drag sliders properly. Any attempt to do so causes them to move full to the right and then freeze at the end of their travel. I can't drag the sliders to the left at all. The only way I can set the value is to use the mouse wheel or type it in.
System specs are: Windows Vista 32, Reaper 5.04, Logitech G400s mouse using the stock Windows driver ... not the Logitech Gaming Software.
I have no clue how to fix this behavior.
If it's any help ... I once ran across this problem when I tried out Ableton and the fix was to create an Options.txt file with "-AbsoluteMouseMode" as a single command line ... and place it in the AppData/Roaming/Ableton/Live 8.2.8/Preferences file.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi Ken,
ok, so, first please try Settings/Settings and enable Tablet mode. I must say, I never saw this problem on Windows with a mouse though... It indeed seems like a problem in Logitech stuff, maybe you should install the correct drivers indeed.

Hey ... thanks for the prompt reply!
I found the cause of the problem. It's the Windows Vista DPI scaling.
I normally use a 125DPI scaling for my 23 inch 1920 X 1080 monitor and at that scaling I couldn't drag knobs or sliders in the plugin. I dropped the scaling down to 96DPI and dragging knobs and sliders worked fine ... but that causes a readability issue with Reaper. So ... I went back to 125DPI scaling and changed the Reaper compatibility properties to "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" ... and that also allowed proper dragging of the knobs and sliders ... though readability or Reaper was so-so ... but better than at 96DPI. Though I use a desktop I tried your suggested Tablet Mode ... used with 125DPI scaling and no Reaper compatibility changes and I could drag knobs and sliders just fine.
To summarize ... there were 3 ways that allowed knobs and sliders to be dragged properly:
1. Back the scaling down to 96DPI
2. Keep the scaling at 125DPI and change the Reaper compatibility properties to "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"
3. Keep the scaling at 125DPI, no Reaper compatibility changes and enable Tablet Mode in the plugin. This seems the best solution.
As to my mouse drivers ... they're the most current available for that mouse and for Vista. The Logitech Gaming Software just allows gaming mouse profiles and such stuff ... I found it pretty much useless for non gaming use.
Thanks!
