New GUI vs Old GUI - Less Features?

I am in the process of trading in my old Receptor for a VIP2 and was reading the new manual to get a feel for the new user interface before my unit arrives. Love the new interface! However, it appears that it may have less functionality than the old, mixer style interface. Each channel on the Mixer interface allowed for 3 FX plugins to be added on each hardware or software channel and a selection of how to wire them together (series/parallel). This seems to be missing completely on the software (synth) channels and reduced to one plugin on the hardware channels. Am I missing something? Not something I typically use anyway, just wondering so if I have a need for this I don't go crazy looking for them.

I forgot to mention the other omission. I didn't see anything about Uniwire in the new manual. I that still available?

Uniwire: nope, it's only available in mixer mode.

As I understand the effects, yeah, it's been nerfed.

Maybe we'll see more flexible effects options in version 2 of the software?

Yes there is definitely some functionality missing in Rack Mode. Uninstall plugins? Front panel display knobs (for R2+ owners like myself)? Certain signal paths are unavail also, though I was able to set up an mda vocoder patch in Mixer mode and then open the saved patch in Rack mode and it was fine, so there are likely other workarounds.
I like to think they are working on these.

Please see "Improvement Wishes" top entries of the forum. Hopefully this post here will add to some others that are requesting the very same thing. Indeed I'm supposed to be composing for a guest artist Justin from Austria and I would like to mix many samples in through "Rehearse" and then alter them respectively. Unfortunately the two auxiliary sends already have a fax implemented for other channels in the rack mode. To remedy my conundrum I have to include other peripherals and software until there is some solution. I thought that I would find some work around that would last through all of my scenarios. Another factor that would be helpful with finding a workaround would be if the 3io had MIDI out capability. I certainly hope that if enough of us make noise we might get a software change in the near future.
