Yes indeed it is. Plus it comes with a controller.

My upgrade price from Artist 8 to Pro 8 is 200 dollars. So I can actually buy the whole version for less than the upgrade (and then sell the Artist version if I wished.. and the controller for that matter).

That said.. Upgrades cost double with Pro than with Artist so I'd ensure the difference in features make it worth the switch if looking between the two.

So wait, for 184$ you get the full cubase pro 8 and a controller? You dont need to own a previous version or anything? Need to buy an elicenser or does it have that too (or do you still need one)?

Yes, it's the full Cubase Pro 8 (because of the grace period, the license of Cubase 7 gets updated to 8 Pro for free when you activate the serial on your elicenser). The elicenser should be included in the box since it's a full version, not an upgrade.

For those who bought it at full price to use in production to make a bit of money with, I don't think they care that much

I mean as a working musician/producer, what is best to write off on the tax: $500 or $100 ?

For those that bought it just to sit on it as an investment, yes, I guess they could be a bit annoyed

There is 200MB samples of Distorted Synths, otherwise there is just demos and sample packs that can be downloaded for free from the devs anyhow.

Right, everyone talking about this incredible $99,- deal for Vintage Vault but I don't see it either.
Also BFD3: "not availabe". Cubase 7.5: "not shipping abroad".

It simply was too good to be true ...

I just bought Cubase, lol such a deal I don't need it really, I've got Logic, Live, Reason, Sonar, maschine and tracktion... god I need help.

for what its worth, and hell, I might buy this one too. musicians friend's clearance sale includes the 49 key Arturia/Bitwig pack, with 49 key keyboard with 16 pads, Bitwig studio, Analog Lab, and Mini V for $259. probably US only, I didn't check.
