Crackling noise

Hello -- I'm using MuLab for the MUX OSC and I'm getting cracking noises sporadically in the audio output. Is there a setting that can reduce or eliminate this. The CPU meter is not registering more than about 50%.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Have you entered the "unlimited" one month OSC user key?

Yes. I did. Would it make sense to re-enter it? Or is there a way to convert some tracks to audio so they are less processor intensive?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Does that crackling noise also happens when simply playing a single synth sound? If yes then it's not related to CPU load, else it does seem to be related to CPU load. If it's related to CPU load, also try to vary the multi-core processing setup in MuLab's audio setup and see what's best for your system.

Maybe my comment is a little out of place since I don't have MU tools, but I experienced something that fits your description perfectly. I had crackling sounds when using Synthmaster in FL studio and I noticed it had something to do with the ASIO settings and audio settings. When I changed ASIO / Audio settings the problem became worse with some settings and better with others. I have ASIO4all, FL studio ASIO and Focusrite, since I own the 2i2 from them. But it was only with Synthmaster I had the problem. Finally I found that Synthmaster2 have something called "Engine quality" and "Engine buffer". By changing those settings I finally got rid of the problem. So my advice is check the audio settings in your DAW and try different settings to see if problem is gone, or perhaps getting worse, or check your MUX OSC to see if there are any audio related settings, bit rate, buffer, etc. Hope you solve it because such problem is very annoying.ontrackp wrote:Yes. It is inconsistent. It has happened while I had one track solo'd or while just playing a sound while tweaking synth parameters, and it also happens when multiple tracks play together. It's intermittent -- doesn't happen in the same place.mutools wrote:Does that crackling noise also happens when simply playing a single synth sound? I've tried varying the multi-core processing setup but will try each setting individually.

Thanks. I've been doing what I can to tweak my system, but I'm using MuLab on a Mac and there is only so much I can do.ATN69 wrote:Maybe my comment is a little out of place since I don't have MU tools, but I experienced something that fits your description perfectly.
