u-he Oscilloscope plug-in?

Is there any possibility of u-he taking their on-board synth oscilloscope designs, and developing a fully fledged oscilloscope plug-in to work with any signal fed into it?
The reason I ask is u-he have some of the nicest looking and behaving oscilloscopes I've seen in the software domain, and I feel it would be a rather nice and useful utility to have.
Thoughts?

Indeed, nice idea. It would fill a niche, since there aren't many good alternatives, and s(m)exoscope is rather old and only 32 bit compatible.

Yeah, this is something I'd be interested in as well...
When modeling waves, I currently use s(m)exoscope but it has some limitations at some point...

It's 32 bit only.3ee wrote:I currently use s(m)exoscope but it has some limitations at some point...
It's sad that most of smartelectronix has never released their plugin code, but just abandoned it

Excellent, thanks Urs. Look forward to it!Urs wrote:There's a plan to do that. Just not enough time atm...

The Vengeance VPS Scope (which is available from Computer Music Mag vault) is a good one.3ee wrote:Yeah, this is something I'd be interested in as well...

Supporting this idea!
Instead of printing, we need an oscilloscope.
I already use Schope, but I believe you guys can do best one.
With smooth framerate, handy zoom (with good resolution for peaks), and some quantize options.
Kind regards,

would be nice to have some sort of saving as JPEG to do some cool waveform art or videos

A neat feature that would be really nice to have is if you could set the zoom level to the frequency of the incoming MIDI note. This would make complex wave-forms easier to visualize without having them skip around as they would in plugins that try to reset at the beginning of each cycle such as RS-MET Signal Analyzer, s(M)exoscope, and J-Scope (all of which are otherwise excellent). Cableguys WaveShaperCM has this feature though though otherwise has very little control over the display.

Nice suggestions. Also on the topic of oscilloscope waveform art and videos etc.. Another nice feature for this would be to have two channel outputs on x and y axis, or lissajous mode.
I've been experimenting with this sort of thing a bit in max recently, but the scope in max isn't that great either.

A oscilloscope of u-he quality with syphon out would make me very happy. Lots of fun video stuff could be done.Teezdalien wrote:Nice suggestions.
