I was on the 'Kriminal 2' beta team. Much like version 1, everything seems alright until it randomly crashes, and goes into meltdown

for clarity's sake, i have nothing against the guy either (i don't take people's online persona as their real nature; quite the opposite, normally)

Just look around here. KVR is a reflection of the society as a whole. I meet and deal with people on a Daily basis in my "real" Life who don't know how to discuss things. "If you dont agree with me I will kill you" attitude and "I know more than you because I am better than you" attitude is not uncommon here, as in the Life outside KVR. Every time I face such person I just remind myself that this person have issues and it has nothing to do with me. Just feel sorry for them and move on ..and trying to discuss with a brick wall is futile and will never lead to anything good

Yes - and the way to deal with this kind of person is to walk away from them if you feel the conversation is going nowhere - not exclude them entirely. Other peoples reactions to them will eventually result in them learning different ways to behave. If you keep excluding everyone that acts a bit out of line now and again you end up surrounding yourself with yes men and the conversation becomes stale. I don't mind the occasional 'troll' (boy do I hate that stupid, meaningless word) - sometimes they shake things up a bit and force the conversation into a more critical and ultimately productive place.

Just curious what do you do to get you banned here?
I've picked a fight with a respected member who sadly passed away. An action I now regret.
And recently threw a fit at IKM for their sale in which they changed the rules, including having my own faux 'sale' to mock them. Actions I don't regret.
No one seems to mind in the least, well as long as I don't post in the Instruments forum or put up decade old instruments as 'news'.

'Brick wall threads' - that's a good way of characterising a lot of forum threads in general. Someone asks a question but really, it's a set of brick walls inside which the person usually just wants a bit of attention or affirmation about something. The thread is kept going by circular, meaningless agreeing with one another until it gets boring. Then a new thread's started that's slightly different from the first one - rinse, repeat... kvr

I don't relate it that much to a particular user, it is more the precedent it sets, a users should be allowed to vent without being banned

I can understand that a suspension is imposed to cool down the user, but to ban somebody for a long time is not good

Actually, after having insulted people in the past, in addition to subtle -or less- innuendos, and sometimes diffamatory statements etc, and getting several temp bans for his glorious actions, he decided to climb a definitive step toward star system, show that he had learned his lessons, and insulted one of the Kvr mods in the charity thread iirc.
