Ok ! So here is a better clip and I put more attention to its recording ;-) The guitar is plugged directly into the soundcard this time with input level set a -10db.

Hey Midiworks, I have a hybrid Fender Strat Aluminum body (was NOS from the failed '94 series) with a Greg Bailey Aluminum neck. It has a VERY unique character.

Lemme know if you're interested.
Vst's are the glue for my musical monster model. Nuendo is my huff bag.

Sounds like a very interesting guitar,
yes, it would be nice if you'd play something for my project ! :)

Please, completly dry, no preamp or EQ, just the
pure guitar.

Thanks a lot MarsHottentot !

Yes I have to say this sounds way better! I'll run some more tests with my preamp... It is a microphone preamp and is not supposed to impact much the sound, I might be selling a Bluetube preamp soon :?

One thing I miss in the new tune 1, is on the big chords, my amp tends to sound brighter on them... it is like the eq is neither linear for some strange reasons (I guess tubes?). Same on tune 2... But except this characteristic, it is getting very realistic!!!

The buetube sounds fine to my ears !
Its just that I build the plug for direct input of a guitar. ;)

I use expensive studio monitors here and did'nt like that much tops.
I can give you so much tops that they could blow your eardrums... :-o :P

Lucky you ;-) My poor Krks need tops! :help:

Yeah I think the tops should be there... for some projects, they need to be there so that the guitars strike out of the mixes (eg for solos). And I usually treat amp sims as real tracks, I eq and compress them.

Want a special mix for you ?

All depends, how much is too much... :?

There should be no need for that with my plugin !
Everything is right there. :o

That brings me to another question:
What kind of FX "must" be included ?

Opinions ? :help:

I hope there is not too much stuff :-o
If you have an eq, it should be pre-speaker sim, which sounds quite different from post equing the mic.

My wish for an amp sim plug is to have an output as realistic as possible with lots of dynamics and a kind of "raw" sound like recorded out of a microphone.
All the fx layers in the existing amp sims are killing the "feel" of playing in a real amp.
When I play in my mesa, I usually don't use any fx, no eq, no compression.
But then for some projects, I need to eq and compress to put a guitar in the background.

Maybe for the tops, you could make a setting? A presence button? Could you make some demos?

I hope I'm not being too critical

IMO keep it simple... There are tons of great (and free) quality fxes out there (thinking of the Kjaerhus). So I don't think it is worth spending time implementing delay, chorus, phaser nor flanger (I do really love the Kjaerhus ones for theses ;-)... unless you implement exiting vintage ones hehe

The only "fx" that I miss in all the existing amp sims is a rotary speaker (with tempo sync ;-).

I think effects are not essential
I would like to be able to use the cab/speaker sim without amp sim

did you "process" my kind of blues file ?
