It would be very helpful if members would add their system spec.s in their signature. Saving the poster from having to do it each time, and let's the readers have a sense of the poster's environment. Different hardware/os/daw can really influence the proper response...jat...:D.../s~

Good idea, done. It gets a bit messy when you have multiple machines (for work and home) but I guess it's better than not having information at all.

It's usually considered a bad idea in Hardware/OS Support Forums to have these Infos in the signature. It's usually outdated, and people don't update it when they buy or build a new system. Hence you can't rely on the info given in the sig usually. It's much better to put it in the post when you ask a question. Isn't so much extra work too, is it?

Post

...point taken...the ones ive "managed" (very loose expression) or been a member of have "insisted" the info be there and kept current...i can see it going either way...personally im not going to type that in for every post, and as a courtesy keep mine up to date...its very off putting for me to find out after the fact the "environment" the question came out was not available/current :dog:...btjm...:D.../s~

Hey, fair enough. :) It would be cool if it worked, but i've given support in a Linux forum for some time, and it was horrible. You had to convince every 4th or 5th guy that using the sig for system info is a bad idea, because it's quickly outdated, and People ARE too lazy or don't mind updating it, and noone listened really. Not that they gave useful info in the posts either... you rather had to pull every tiny piece of info out of them...

...yup, agreed, and dually noted...but for me this board has a really different feel (the gs factor is quite low)...and it seems very useful and considerate.../s~

How come I can't see other peoples signatures including my own? Is there a setting somewhere?
Thanks.

Edit Profile >> Board preferences tab >> Edit Display options

But that is a good reason to put the specs in the post itself as some (many?) have got Signatures turned off.
