Is manual punch in supported?

If I manually punch in by hitting the "R" key on my computer keyboard, the audio playback glitches for about 100-200 milliseconds, then starts playing again. I get similar behavior if I toggle the "R" button off and on for the track I'm recording. Is manual punch in meant to work? This doesn't happen if I set the in/out markers and do auto punch in.

It's supported in T6 by pressing record enable for the track on-the-fly. It's not support for pressing the R keyboard shortcut or clicking Record in the Transport. This might have been added to T6 after the initial release so make sure you are up-to-date. It was new for T6 so it doesn't work for T5.bburtin wrote:If I manually punch in by hitting the "R" key on my computer keyboard, the audio playback glitches for about 100-200 milliseconds, then starts playing again. I did a video demo of it when it was new back in February:

Thanks Bill. That's a helpful video, but really it shows how to punch out, as opposed to punching in, since you start recording from the beginning. Tracktion 6 won't let me start recording if none of the tracks are armed. Seems like the more traditional case is to start in playback mode, then punch in and out. I'll keep using the auto punch feature. Hopefully the Tracktion devs will add better support for manual punch in the future.
