I am working with Presonus Studio One V3. Inside my Effects tab Synthmaster is shown as Synthmaster2FX.
But how do i use it on audio material ? I see on the vocoder that data is sent when i choose AudioInput but i can't hear anything. No audio output. Can i use only the vocoder as FX or any other FX too ?

Thank you. :phones:

I just noticed the same thing this weekend. Was wondering how to get sound. I didn't see any information in the manual, but I may have missed it.

Load an audio or synth track, and Synthmaser can be used as an effect, with obvious many extras, such as using its filters, effects and all modulations that you use in a synth patch. You may have to set up a MIDI track, then set that particlular Synhtmaster to be the reciever of MIDI information to open things like the filters. It's like Zebrify i believe, but so far I have not used SM in this way. If i do in the next couple of days, will report back to you.

Reset patch -> choose New, then :

Choose AudioIn as an oscillator and take it from there...

Good luck.

Thank you for the info. I tried it with AUDIO INPUT but nothing happens. I uploaded a gif how i set up my SM.
Maybe you can help further.

Thanks

Yeager- You have to trigger an envelope in Synthmaster when don't you so that the audio can be processed?

I am sorry. I don't understand this. What do you mean ? :o I looked in the Matrix if there is anything with AudioInput for the source but didn't find anything. I am still learning, so please be patient. Can you
make some screenshot or detailed description how to setup SM to get the FX for audio ?

Thank you.

In the top field in the middle click "New" and select "Reset Preset".

If you're using the FX version of Synthmaster 2 it should now already have "AudioIn" chosen as oscillator type, here's where to find the option:

And setting an appropriate threshold level should hopefully help you get some sound passed through.

Hope that helped.

EDIT: also envelopes can be triggered simply by sending MIDI notes to Synthmaster 2 FX. Just like a synth only makes sound when receiving notes (and during the release phase off course) some FX versions of synths only make sound when receiving MIDI notes or somehow otherwise envelopes are triggered. Hopefully that made sense to you. :-)

It depends, I tried it in reaper after a synth, and it took the midi notes from the synth.
I tried it as a send , and then I had to put a long midinote on the(Synthmaster send) track to "activate" the effect.

So all in all I think YES you need a midi note.

Thanks Gone Soft for the pics

PS make sure to turn the Osc "ON" :)

Yeah. I got it. Thank you all for the info. As i said i am using Presonus Studio One V3 and things are different there but not harder ;-)
So i have to create 2 Tracks. One Audio Track and one Instrument Track. On the Instrument Track i have to set the Instrument Output to Synthmaster2FX - which is on the Audiotrack of course. Drawing in some midi note triggers SM2FX. Putting some sample on the audio track - and i am ready to go.

Again - thanks all. Problem solved. :-)

EDIT: Don't put on the FILTER. You break your monitors AND ears.
