Even if you have an eq, it should be pre-speaker sim, which sounds quite different from post equing the mic.
Right !
I think I do both, but not sure...
Rik wrote: My wish for an amp sim plug is to have an output as realistic as possible with lots of dynamics and a kind of "raw" sound like recorded out of a microphone.
All the fx layers in the existing amp sims are killing the "feel" of playing in a real amp.
When I play in my mesa, I usually don't use any fx, no eq, no compression.
But then for some projects, I need to eq and compress to put a guitar in the background.

Maybe for the tops, you could make a setting? A presence button? Could you make some demos?
There will be buttns on/off for this, pre/post...

For Demos I am not ready yet.

No, not at all !!!
Midiworks wrote: That brings me to another question:
What kind of FX "must" be included ?
Opinions ? :help:

IMO keep it simple... There are tons of great (and free) quality fxes out there (thinking of the Kjaerhus). So I don't think it is worth spending time implementing delay, chorus, phaser nor flanger (I do really love the Kjaerhus ones for theses ;-)... unless you implement exiting vintage ones hehe
I agree 100% with that ! :D:
The only "fx" that I miss in all the existing amp sims is a rotary speaker (with tempo sync ;-).

I give it a try ! :D

Thanks Rik !

Talking again about eq, my wish is to have something like amplitube where there is no eq info but just some dumb buttons like real guitar amps (bass, mids, highs). I would find it quite complex to handle a parametric eq in pre-amp sim (like izotope trash).
For such approach, you could make different amp settings and they could impact the frequency and bandwidth of each knob (the low, middle and high knobs sounds very different on a marshall than on a mesa).

I just meant some audio clips showing how turning the knob sounds ;-)

It is really exiting that you are taking user's opinion here!!!

Oh now I'm looking forward to hear it on Electric Pianos ;-) Do you want a clip of RSP'73 (from the Scarbee samples)?

Erik.

You can hear that on the different demos very well.

Yes, it is. For me too, to listen to all the opinions ! ;)

and lilte chorus on my guitars...

1. simple comressor
2. EQ
3. Harmonizer = PitchShifter
4. AND ALL GReat PATCHES on our Demos
Sorry Dimitar, I have overseen you here. :?

On the Demos is, compressor, chorus, delay, reverb & eq ;)

A harmonizer is a good idea !
I will try and see how much cpu this will use.

Also I think about a Wah Wah, that you can control
with any midi vol pedal. :P

Here are the first 10 presets from NI Guitar Rig.
No commment, listen yourself !

2. Amplitube best VIP 9 presets

Here are 9 Amplitube presets from the factory "VIP presets",
Not bad in fact, but miles away....

Hello MidiWorks ! Dude ;)
Why don't you try to make some
Emulation of real Amps ..more natural
with more highs overtones more timbre...
you know...

I think Demos are soo good
but I think they sound too "polishing"
need to have more harmonic's....

but its only my suggestion ....

Best regards

:)
