Thanks! Just what I was looking for. If they didn't title it that I would have guessed it was pure speculation based on wishful thinking because they surely have not provided any kind of details whatsoever.a123321 wrote:Hmm, the picture is posted on the main overloud site and it says : overloud.com/images/home/home-th-teaser2.jpg
It is obvious a TH release but I am tired of waiting and overloud teases with pictures for months. We need an announcement.

From their Facebook page back in July
I added the 'Customer' 'Overloud Dude' bits. I posted this on another forum back then, and just copied it here. Don't know if it can still be found on Facebook, I don't really use it other than checking up on developer news on things that interest me, so not sure if you can find it through some search.
Customer - Hey, so remember back when you guys used to make amp modelers? I still think TH2 and MS2 are among the best, but it's been a looong time since anything new has come out. Is that it? are you guys done with amp modelers? Inquiring minds want to know!
Overloud Dude - Hi Brian, we cannot disclose that information right now, anyway you can expect something very big coming soon!

Well indeed you can, if you look in the left hand column, select 'Visitor Posts', scroll down a little way to find a post by Brian Garrison, expand it to see the reply from Overloud

Looks like the first official TH3 confirmation. IK scored a major home run with the Mesa Boogie collection and Amplitube 4. I still like the TH-2 Twin better than the Twin in Amplitube Fender. The TH2 5150 is also very good and compares to the sound of TSE X50II.
Amp Modellers have gotten more complex and PSP rrecently did a serious Leslie Emulation. Competition between TH3, Scuffham, Brainworx and AT4 is going to be very stiff and interesting to watch.

Thanks for posting. While I am super glad to hear that they are still developing, I was hoping for a more a bigger update for TH3. It sounds like they might be just adding a couple of new Brunetti-licensed pieces of gear and updating the GUI a bit. Was hoping for more metal amps and to update the original algos for improved sound like other developers had in their previous iterations.

We don't know what's new yet, as there no official announcement.AC222 wrote:Thanks for posting. But I'm sure there will be more than just some new Brunetti stuff.

Yeah, you are right. Just went with my initial emotional response. Us yanks are no good with patience. Cheers,
AC
I like teasers when I know it's out during the week. Like UAD does.
Otherwise it's just killing me.

Updating original algos would be the main reason for introducing a V3, otherwise why call it V3? I don't think they need to add any new Amp models. What are they 4 generations beyond Simulanalog now?AC222 wrote:Thanks for posting. While I am super glad to hear that they are still developing, I was hoping for a more a bigger update for TH3. If you need Metal Amps why not just get the new Mesa collection for Amplitube 4?

Ok. So a couple of points to address. First off, the algos were not updated in Th2 from the original version of Overloud so that's quite an assumption to think they are updated algos based on their precedence. Just because you and I both think they shouldn't call it a new release without a major update doesn't mean that is what the developer will do.electro wrote:Updating original algos would be the main reason for introducing a V3, otherwise why call it V3? Second, I don't get why are you telling me to get the Mesa collection for Amplitube 4. I have Amplitube 4, The Mesa Collection, the whole Amplitube metal collection, and all of their amp collections/packages. That has nothing to do with Th3 so I don't get why you are bringing that up.
Not all amp sims sound the same. Different developers have different takes on the same process. Currently I do enjoy Amplitube's offerings the best for amp sims specifically but still want to check out Overloud's attempt. I find Overloud's distortion boxes to be better than the ones I have tried in Amplitube and Revalver, TSE, etc...etc... so there's plenty of reason for me to be interested in Th3.

AMP Sims are supposed to sound like real AMPs. The closer the sound and behavior, the better the sim the farther away the worse. You were right about TH-2 AMPS not updating TH-1 algos. What high gain AMPs would you want to see in addition to Mesa and TSE X50II 5150? I think they should do only a small # of AMPs really well.AC222 wrote: Not all amp sims sound the same.
