Recording the output of one track into another

I want to know if T6 will allow me to record (by which I do mean actually render into the form of an audio file) the output of one track into another track.

Am currently using the free version of Tracktion (T4?) and it doesn't have this feature.

I hope the answer is yes because the design of Tracktion is really great and would hate to have to back to Cubase.

Yes - it's very easy in T6.

Hiya
1. Solo the track you wish to record,
2. Create a new audio track,
3. Select new audio track and in the record box select the track No. you wand to record from,
4. Click on the red R
5. Click on the red record button in the transport bar.
Easy, All Done

Step 1 above isn't necessary, you don't need to solo the track you want to record.

It's usually a good idea though to either solo one or mute the other so you don't get doubled sound. I tend to mute the audio track being recorded into until I want to play it back.

I was using this feature often in T5, and now suddenly it will not function....I set up a Reacktor oinstrument on a channel and then create a new track with the Reaktor track as the source...I try to record and nothing happens....this used to work with this version all of the time and now it will not. Anyone know if I hit a button somewhere and disengaged this feature???

Can you not just select the track and click render to new track? Pass through plugins needs to be ticked
What benefit is there in recording in real time?

Some plugins need it, eg many Reaktor ensembles that generate their own output.

I also like to record direct to audio if I'm improvising, it can capture things that automation and bouncing often miss.
