some guy in the host forum wrote:I played with Traction too, and liked the layout and concept. But what bothered me with Tracktion had to do with the time between updates, especially if it was a needed update to fix a serious bug.
Damn I never thought I'd see people complaining about the amount of Tracktion updates. I remember when there were updates every week :-o. How times change.

i dont think its the time the updates take
i think its the amount of whiners moaning some bug not being fixed
T is young and people are already expecting it to have everything nailed completly
but you know what its only cause they love it so much
think about when you get a new car
every week out washing it
then once that car just becomes part of your routine
you start noticing every single creak squeek and bump
same shit different technology :D

oh and i bet matey who you quoted ends up on T once mackie start throwing down the gauntlet

cheers
I aint famous enough to be handin out signatures

You're gonna have to help me with the Euro-slang again dawg. :D

But yeah I guess he was prasing Podium on its amount of updates compared to Tracktion. He'll see the light eventually. T1 is the best workflow on earth. And nobody escapes T2. 8)

In that thread, the guy seemed to think that T was buggy... :?

The thing is... many (most?) other programs are pretty unstable compared to T, and a lot of times updates are bugfixes. Were I Jules (thankfully I'm not, I'd be sick of the Modeling Agencies banging on my door), I'd also be working on T2 instead of fixing esoteric bugs that are sometimes not even reproducible.

Major companies certainly don't update as many times as Jules has already done... and Podium's updates will chill out once the developer's happy with where it stands, too.

Stability differs from system to system and right now Tracktion seems to me to be a bit buggy, especially with midi...

A very old saying which refers to the practise of a gentleman taking of his glove and smacking it on a table by way of a challenge to a rival. It's just a more civilised version of "you want a piece of me then mate?" Blood would still be spilt, but it would all be very dignified, and probably well dressed too.

jtxx000, that's a known quirk and has nothing to do with stability.

I own FLS, Tracktion, Orion Platinum, and energyXT. I can say Tracktion is the most stable one in my personal experience, albeit that it does have its quirks. T rarely crashes here, OTOH, all other hosts fail from time to time.

A gaunlet is a newborn gaunt. The animal cruelty people put a stop to the gauntlet-down-throwing sport years ago.

Jules and Mackie would be absolute fools to not deliver a terrific T2--and they are not fools. Tracktion is a great program that needs some time, but its future is bright. Jules will dominate the world, Vally, Modular and the others will be his henchmen and hopefully the rest of us can be minions or at least hunchbacks or something.

Here's to T.

As I just said in the other thread http://www.kvr-vst.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=629358 , I did some computer cleaning stuff and it seems to be working better now...

If I can't toss a few gaunts, then I want nothing to do with it. :x
