CONGRATULATIONS on having such an amazing load of freaking incredible demos for MUX and MuLAB (actually)!

OSC#80 page&playlist

There must be a post about this here, too, but I was too lazy to look and to eager to send you my happy greetings, though a bit late. :hyper:

I might post my "Halloween" MuProject here, but I did use exactly 2 third party plugins (LoudMax64 and Nova 67-P). Since they're free, I could just add links to where you could get those, but I think I rather wait until someone shows interest. :phones:

Anyway, I'm sincerely happy for you, Jo, and I'm also a little bit proud, if I may. Actually I'm super proud of you and MUX, but it's kinda awkward if I say that, is it?!

Post

Sorry for my late reply here, have been deep into the M7 works.
Far from done yet, but finally found an island of time to listen to all MUX OSC tracks :phones: and indeed very nice tracks in there  :tu:
I'll listen again and again this weekend and vote before sunday night.
I also hope some new MuLab demo projects can be created from these tracks.
I'll follow up on that asap.
Cheers!!

Ha, strange...I somehow fell out of the loop a little since I've started to write my first vst.
As for voting, I thought that was only for participants? That makes me wonder, if you've made a track, too, and I missed it?

Oh, I can totally give you mine as demo track, if you wish. I only have to substitute those two little mastering plugs.

Post

Anyone can vote in the OSC by the 15th, who has more than 40 posts OR who entered. I highly recommend listening to the tracks to hear some if what can be done with MUX!

Well, never mind then... VOTE! :D

I listened to every track, and, although there's a great deal of talent there, I really can't understand why everything seems to be based around similar styles???

There's no dance, trance, hardcore, techno, or anything remotely similar! Why? Is it part of the rules or something?

It's not just mux entries but nearly everything I listened was based on ambient, chillout, or something like it. There was a jazz track and a couple funk in previous competitions but that's it?!

Post

I'm wondering, if I may have a little something to do with that, but there seem to be phases for everything. I got really tired of dance tracks, because prior to that, 90% of all tracks were dance of sorts. What was worse was that it felt like they were pressing each synth into the exact same sound, not really letting the synth inspire their tracks.
I think, now it's actually really great! There are maybe a few too many chillouts and ambients, but all in all it is rather diverse. I really just care for music and this time I also cared about Halloween, which was really fun. I'm not sure what genre my song falls into, but somehow "chillout" or "ambient" may not be it, is it?!

Nah, I only wish I was that good!

Which one did you do? Is it under Taron? I'll check it out again when at home.

EDIT: Just had a listen to your track again, very good! :tu: Though not my cup of tea, it's very well done. I prefer something like this or this when it comes to ambient/chillout.

No dance music huh?

Perhaps they don't "fit" into any single dance category but I do believe they are outside of the chill/ambient genre

@sl23 - That's the beauty of humanity...it takes all kinds! ;)

Dakkra, you always have nice tracks, by the way. :tu:

@ dakkra ~ am I right in thinking only the last one has anything to do with OSC? Which was my original comment.

Although they are a very far distant flavour for my taste (Pete Namlook , Aphex Twin) I can see there is much talent in your tracks, as I said previous, I could only hope to be that good!

Post

@ Taron ~ BTW I can't do what I truly enjoy, that's a dream I've been chasing all my life with no success, too many issues!

Music is the next best!

No, all three came out of OSC 80 :)

ZPrime - Building A False Fantasy
L-EctroBit - The Rain

They are both dance tracks from MUX OSC 80

There are other dance tracks but these two came up in higher quality in my personal preference. My own track is a dance track but not in the same quality as the two previously mentioned.

As Taron said though, join the OSC! More composers and sound designers makes for a more fun competition! We'd be glad to have you show your skills!

     er... what skills! I'm afraid my stuff is very amateurish and really just for a bit of fun, I don't take it too seriously!

Hey, did you really listen to them all? :D Here's my edm track.
