For what it's worth, I've had a good listen to these presets just now, and in several I could hear either noise, or distortion.. I hadn't read your post until after listening to them, and I just assumed it was intentional.. it wasn't clipping, but the distortion was obvious to me, and I assumed this was by design.. as well the noise was fairly noticeable at times, again I figured this was by design, but in at least one demo preset, the noise was obvious enough that to my ears it would mean that I would probably tweak the preset to then use it.

I know some people like the noisy and/or distortion type sounds, but I don't personally. I spend a lot of time using Izotope RX to get rid of noise and artifacts in some recordings - types of noise and distortions that some of these presets seem to possess.

I'm not trying to be critical, I think many of these presets are very good. Just trying to throw some light on the issue raised.
Hey, perhaps my DAW is just possessed, but pull up the patch- "KEY - Celestial EP". When I play at a hard velocity it is crackle city. I can put either the program or the Master Falcon faders down all I want and it is still crackling....not that anything was in the red to begin with. I now go into the FX section and turn off the EQ....which has boosts of around 13db in the mids, and viola , everything sounds great and I now save it as a favorite even. Many more presets suffer the same, and when I either remove the high boosted EQ, or the "Gain" insert (that is often set the its 12db max), the problem is gone and the patch sounds great. I've been going over a lot of the Factory presets and Simon's 3rd party presets, and I don't hardly see the Gain plugin used at all, and I don't see the EQ being used to jack up the frequencies so high like what I'm seeing on the Bird of Flight's patches. Perhaps I'm discovering this because I tend to play at harder velocities than some, perhaps...but shouldn't these presets allow for hard velocities without unintended noise? I feel horrible for pointing this out, but the only way to use a lot of these patches will be to manually fix what is making the patches overly hot, hence noisy, in many cases. I would love to know what compelled you guys to use the Gain and EQ in this way. Again, I can turn down the faders with the same results- the problem resides with your use of the Gain at high db and the very high boosts in the EQ. I'm certainly not an expert with this, but I've rarely seen EQ boosts that high. These problems are only with your patches and not on the Factory's.

I hate having to say all of this, so much so that I just bought Blue Diamond for Omni 2 this morning from you guys to further show that I have no ill will and am only trying to figure out why I'm going to have to do a lot of editing in order to use you otherwise great patches.

I've been composing for over 30 years and spend thousands per years on presets and libraries, but have never had an experience like this before with a soundset. Thanks for listening.

Same here - had to really dial down my mixer volume control to avoid distortion (+ just too loud).
