That's a good point, we should make a video about them. I've always thought Resonant Chords and Stringbox seem cool.aMUSEd wrote:Anyone got the PCM effects? The Lexicon website is lacking in much useful info about them:

their 'extended description' just gives you info about the various ways they display information which is useless.

Yes, I meant loading the samples into the IRCAM Granular oscillator or something like that. I don't see a way to do that as with an ordinary sample. I can open a preset from, e.g. XTreme Effects, map it to a range on the keyboard, and apply modulation and effects but AFAIK I can't bring the sample(s) from the preset into a granular oscillator.Uncle E wrote:They can be loaded into Falcon and manipulated. I guess you are referring to the actual samples themselves?Gribs wrote:AFAIK the samples in UVI instruments are locked in their *.ufs file format.
If there is a way to do this would someone please let me know?
I extreme GAS for the Vintage Vault... trying not to overspend my budget. So far I am liking what I hear in the sound sets I have.
Cheers!

How good is PolyAna this days compared to more recent plugs.
I mean PolyAna got a "nosejob" and looks mighty fine, but it is still at v1.x eight and a half years after it first was released.

I'm thinking that this sale means v2 is out early in 2016, and then one have to pay upgrade money to stay updated?

Please no, this would inevitably lead to another messy skinning contest for sure, just after the first version looks finally usable ten years after its releaseNumanoid wrote:I'm thinking that this sale means v2 is out early in 2016, and then one have to pay upgrade money to stay updated?

- You can go into each individual sampler and select "Save Sample" from the three-horizontal-lines menu to save individual samples to your HD, then use them as you see fit.
- You can click and long-hold on the "Sampler" module title in the Edit view to get a list of all oscillators available and directly switch to another sample based one (like the granular you mention).
One user tried to do that for a library with thousands of samples (Prepared Piano) and that did not really work (thousands of granular oscillators...) But XTremeFX should be fine, especially if you go for the one-sample programs.
Cheers,
Tom

This thread is for discussion about bargains.
To discuss Falcon and what it can/can't do, why not use the thread in the Instrument forum to do that:

This is just as much a discussion about bargains (there is a sale on for UVI libraries) as what you post about PolyAna above. If you ask how good that plugin is to make a decision, somebody else is asking if he can use the samples in the UVI libraries for his own sounds to make such a decision.
Just relax a bit, will you?
Cheers,
Tom

I have been told many times in this thread to keep stuff on topic.ThomasHelzle wrote:Just relax a bit, will you?
UVI sale was over yesterday.
I can understand somebody asking for advice about best prices on something, but when it comes to functionality of a plug that is covered in the instrument thread.
My post about PolyAna is completely relevant to this thread, as I wonder if the lenghty sale started just now (last until Dec 31) on v1 means v2 is just around the coner.

Thank you! The particular sale is over but perhaps someone was able to use the info to make their purchasing decision(s).ThomasHelzle wrote:

Do the new MicroKey 2 ship with the full Legacy collection, as stated on their webpage?:
The microKEY comes with a serious collection of powerful music software titles including popular special editions of KORG Gadget and KORG Module plus the KORG Legacy Collection offering five classic KORG instruments as plug-ins. With microKEY Air you won’t have to purchase additional software; you can start creating music right away.

Is $40 the best price on Lexicon MXP? That's the price on they're site but it's usually the other sites like JRR, PD etc that have the really good prices but in this case they're a few bucks more...

Yeah, you normally needed the 61-keys version to get the full collection. Apparently now you even get the newest AAS Lounge Lizard EP-4 Session instrument (worth another $99).sprnva wrote:Sure sounds like it. My old MicroKey 25 only came with M1LE. I'd have had to buy one of the bigger ones to get the full collection.
