It is an interesting synth, it is tempting, but I got so many VA's already.

Had the price been $50 or below I would have gone for it, cheap as I am :D

Can anyone tell me something about the PSP delay? Do you have experience with it? What exactly makes it unique and what other delays are comparable? Thanks in advance :)
Pretty much my case... overshot my budget by a bit already so... done.

I have all PSP effects bundle (won the bundle in the charity auction a couple of years ago). They are fine plugins but have interfaces that are out-of-date and small on HDR monitors. My personal favorite is the PSP Echo which is more like a tape echo modeling plugin with saturation etc. I suggest getting the demo for PSP 608 and checking out the UI to see if it will fit your workflow.

I bougth PSP delay a few years ago; I still use it and would recommend it esp at that price.
Pros: very tweakable and a clear understandable UI.
Cons: because its very tweakable and flexible it does need a bit more user effort than a basic delay. Also I always felt the supplied presets somewhat hit-and-miss.

If you want something quick and easy then maybe go for something more basic. But if you are looking for control over your delays then give it a whirl, there is a demo version.
I'll have to give the demo a whirl but any similarities with Relayer?

@Numanoid they seem to have these sales every few months and usually just on one plugin or is that new ones?

Can't comment on that as I haven't tried it. Relayer and Echoboy both interest me but a lack of money means I dare not even drool over the specs, just in case.

Just my opinion : I've compared Echoboy and Relayer, face to face, and found that Echoboy has something more in the sound... it justs sits better in the mix, it stands out immediatly. Relayer is massive sounding, it's different, more "raw" feeling. Echoboy has some presets that blew me away, because it can turn your sound into something else, something unexpected.

I chose Echoboy first, it just has some magic. But as soon as I can I'll purchase UVI Relayer (and their incredibly good Sparkverb too).

I've purchased PSP 608 MD today, and in my opinion it is the easiest to use. It's gonna be the one I choose when I want to go fast with only a pure multitap delay.

Speaking of delays : it seems a very few people know about it, but V-Plugs have Echotrip, and in my opinion it is VERY close from Echoboy. If you download and install their freeware ear training software, you can get some discount codes by playing the games, and get Echotrip with a 40% reduction easily. It is the very first delay I purchased.

Many thanks for all your comments and thoughts on the PSP delay :) I'll give the demo a spin tomorrow and then have a close conversation with my bank account about this and the other hot deals at the moment :D

(nods in complete agreement)

Now bring on the "50% Soundtoys 5" Black Friday sale!

(rubs palms greedily)

It's a shame the prices for their individual effects units are so out of whack. I know the point is to get you to spring for the whole enchilada, but based on what Soundtoys 5 costs, their individual effect unit prices should be about half of what they are.

$60-$100 each, for things I really want > a $499 bundle, half of which I will never really use

Echoboy is sweet, i class it more as character delay cause it's based on hardware and Relayer as more of a precision digital delay, i've not pushed it yet but i've always been pleased with the results, works well on pads on vocals.

Btw one that i always forget to use and is closer to echoboy IMO is U-He Satin, beautiful spaced out delays, really lush. A bit heavy on the cpu though so i can't just throw all over tracks. I'll have to check out V-Plugs echotrip, never heard of it. :)

Is EchoTrip 64 bit? Didn't see any mention one way or the other on their site, makes it seem like no.

Relayer has all the funky modulation stuff happening and the comb filter which to me makes it a good sound design tool. I suppose that just shows it is versatile.

Sorry, can't find the 32/64 information for Echotrip. I use Cubase 5 which is 32. I've checked in the Echotrip user manual, 64 bit isn't mentioned. I've tried to reinstall it, no information. :/

By the way I'm not saying it is as good as Echoboy. But if you wish to purchase Echoboy, which is $199, then you should give a try to V-Plugs Echotrip because it is a very good Echoboy-like delay plugin (expect nearly all the same functions and the same way to first choose a rhythmic pattern and then a delay "colour"), and you can get it for approx $75 (way less out of euro zone) just by playing a frequencies minigame.

I was minding my own business and along came some good deals on KVR which are hard to ignore.

I have Relayer ($54) and have hardly used it nor have made any music so to use as my Windows 10 fresh install with all the DAW’s and such all has stalled to a crawl.

So now there is the PSP 608 ttp://www.pspaudioware.com/ for $33, looks and probably sounds great but then the review on the Echboy are so fantastic I may just pass up this deal and wait for the Echboy discounts. Offer your opinion please. It is not just the money but will I have the time to learn how to use it.

The other deal I like is “Black Grand” Piano by Sampletekk for abut $40.
http://vstbuzz.com/deals/70-off-the-bla ... ampletekk/ . I listened and was very impressed. Don’t know what to do. Of I have a few days to decide. To help me make up my mind Opinons on this deal are welcome.

I am afraid that I am turning into a Gear Slut! :(

One example of thing you could want to do :
-First the sound
- then the 1st delay with a lowpass filter set at 75%
- then the 2nd delay with a lowpass filter set at 50%
- then the 3d delay with a lowpass filter set at 25%
(and so on)

You can do this with PSP Audioware 608 in no time. Unless I'm missing something, you CAN'T do the same echo pattern with Echoboy, you have to use a LFO to simulate it. Don't know if you can do it with Relayer, didn't try every idea I had when I tried the demo.

So PSP Audioware 608 can totally be useful even if you have Echoboy.

I'll lower our price to $39. So it's $40 on Lexicon's site?
