This highlights the problem with constant upgrades.

There are or has been great plugins out there in the past. There is nothing wrong with them at all. People likes them. But since the developers wants ot keep on selling they've to come up with upgrades and other means to force us buy new stuff.

And if you don't upgrade you'll be lost in teh backwaters. With yoru Kontakt 3 you wil not be able to play anything anymore.

And of course you'll have to upgrade your computer to run the latest version of whatever software.

And without the latest version of that software you'll nto be able to run the latest version of another....

And when when you want to stay with teh good stuff form the past They're not there for you anymore. :clown:

Yes, it is a shame. Those sort of sampler instruments are a strong part of my ambient collection.
Another good one which is no longer available is 'Viral Outbreak'.

Crystal goes a little deep.
Didnt see if anyone posted Crystal yet.

Post

as far as I know, the dev of Crystal joined the Omniphere team, but Atmosphere and Crystal have almost nothing in common. (Actually, I would always prefer Crystal)

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

But as that is a branch off the Wusik tree, the sample set should be possible to load up in the latest WusikStation v8 right?

Cryologic by MaxSynths is now free/donationware.

This one is perfect for ambient, soundscapes

Will also work perfect on Win XP

Looks like a really lovely little thing !

But there's an aber...The white GUI.

As you know. I've trouble with my eyes. And bright GUIs like this one is not working very well for me.

But if it's a SynthEdit synth and if the source is free. Then maybe one could make an alternative GUI?

The style of sounds it makes does

You recommended Viral Outbreak above, can't see how that relates to Atmosphere at all

I may have been too hasty...I listened to a few of the audio demos and didn`t see any likeness.

Viral Outbreak has a native list of "Atmosphere" presets. They are evolving as well. As I remember it, Atmosphere is somewhat like this.

A little late with my response, but I wanted to mention that Omnisphere does indeed work just fine under 32-bit XP. Multiple instances may exhaust RAM, but if you freeze as you go it's possible to build even very large projects out of Omnisphere.

All of HG Fortune's (RIP) software should be of interest.

Will work perfect on XP

Where are the downloads? You reposting it again but I dont see where it can be downloaded. Thanks.

As of computer... Just get computer kit at tigerdirect.com and put it together. Now days building own computer is as hard as building a cube with Lego. You have to take yourself very unserious if you still on Win XP. There is no excuse. $250 will by nice computer kit.

The downloads are on the right side of the page. Look under ZIP.

I'm using Linux as my desktop operating system. So, I guess I take computing fairly serious. However I'm honestly not that familiar with Lego. So I can't really say.
