Alpha Octopus Organ 3 relectro RMV Drum Addiction

Post

Edit, I re-read the original offer, as long as they offer support for the product in the time they run the sale it is OK with me. That was my beef, that they continued to sell the product, and removing customer support, but that is not the case.
After 7 years RMV gets retired, Alpha 3 after more than 8 years, Organ 3 ran for almost 9 years, Octopus made it just below 10 years. relectro also gets retired. Time to say good bye. We wont sell these instruments anymore and will only support them for another year. However, if you have a DAW set up, they wont stop working at a specific date, so you can use them as long as you keep a working environment. At some point these instruments probably wont work in a (then) up to date environment, so be careful with any updates you make to your DAW computer.

Exactly my thinking. I also believe it is a wise decision to continue selling such gems with so low prices. Better than just remove them from the product list and gaining nothing.

I also plan to buy the last item (Organ 3) but after the Black Friday (let's see, Can I forget a $20 note somewhere in my pockets? ) :hihi:

Unfortunately, even if they said they'll continue to offer support for 1 year, when I complained about RMV big CPU usage in Studio One, the answer was that they don't care for me because thousands of users are fine with it and 'if it's not working for you, don't buy it'. How sweet is that? :x

I don't know your setup but i tend to think it's not a linplug problem , because i have use RMV with studio one V3 (and V2) and it work perfectly , it was one of the few plugin who work correctly with S1 ...I think you shoud try in other daw because S1 rock but V3 is just a huge bug.

In fairness I don't think anyone can expect a software vendor to spend hours of their time trying to diagnose why an individual customer's computer is not executing their software the same as everyone elses. Even if they were selling it to you at full price, but certainly not for 20 bucks. Would you work on a problem that could take hours or even days to diagnose on an end-of-life product for just 20 bucks?

PS I have used RMV on S1 v2 without a problem.

@hivkorn: Tried more than one DAW. Only S1 2 and 3 had issues.

@Psyclapse: What does 'We will continue to support it for 1 more year.' mean to you?

Yes I read about it. It has something not right with Studio One, but still usable for me, although I admit that I don't use RMV as much as other drums plugins.

The thing is I feel tired to keep searching for the perfect DAW, so what I'm doing now is staying with Studio One and just get rid of the plugin that doesn't work well with it. The last thing I did is sold my IL account because Harmor is freezing Studio one but it runs fine in Reaper. Anyway, apart from Air's instruments, I don't report any wrong doing belongs to plugins behavior with Studio One. There are many alternatives that works fine, so I just see which one suits my DAW :hihi:

All is right with Win7 64 bit Studio One 3 right here, so far so good. I use RMV specifically because it is very light on cpu and memory, then augment or replace it with BFD3. All my plugins are working fine though.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

I would expect them to resolve issues that affect a significant number of their users.

I would not expect them to spend days or weeks trying to reproduce a problem that is only seen by a handful of people, is likely caused by machine config, for people paying just 20 bucks for something declared end-of-life. One has to be realistic.

If it doesn't work on your system then let it go, try something else, its not like its the only drum machine in town.
