Dear Blue Cat Audio Support,
I recently updated to the newest version (V9.60) of Waves plug-ins, using the Waves Central installer.
Unfortunately PatchWork 1.71, both plug-in and standalone application, cannot load the new WaveShell-AU 9.6.component, and therefore cannot load any Waves AU plug-ins.
PatchWork 1.71 does however load the VST shell (WaveShell-VST 9.6.vst) so it is possible to use the Waves 9.60 plug-ins in VST format.
My setup:
• Mac OS X 10.11.1 "El Capitan"
• PatchWork 1.71 (latest build)
• Logic Pro X 10.2.0
The previous version of Waves AU plug-ins worked perfectly with PatchWork 1.71
All of my Waves 9.60 AU plug-ins work correctly when loading directly in Logic Pro X 10.2.0
PatchWork 1.71 not compatible with Waves 9.60 Audio Units

I guess they have broken compatibility with the older AU hosting mode that we are still using in PatchWork for backward compatibitity reasons. We will check this out. Can you still load your older presets that were using these Audio Units?
In general it is indeed preferred to used VSTs, as you can usually load them on Windows too.
