that works for sure.

the problem could be that the DAW is loading another bank as you might think.origwt wrote:sorry about that.Sampleconstruct wrote:So I open my Bank I had saved yesterday after fixing permissions only to find that all the presets are gone and only one is left - named Init1, which was the one I save several days ago. its better to save the presets you want to collect in a TARGET bank.origwt wrote:the problem could be that the DAW is loading another bank as you might think.origwt wrote:sorry about that.Sampleconstruct wrote:So I open my Bank I had saved yesterday after fixing permissions only to find that all the presets are gone and only one is left - named Init1, which was the one I save several days ago. But that's what I did, my target bank was Simon's Bank which is now empty and was fillted with about 15 presets last night.origwt wrote:its better to save the presets you want to collect in a TARGET bank.origwt wrote:the problem could be that the DAW is loading another bank as you might think.origwt wrote:sorry about that.Sampleconstruct wrote:So I open my Bank I had saved yesterday after fixing permissions only to find that all the presets are gone and only one is left - named Init1, which was the one I save several days ago. When setting polyphony in Global to e.g. 14, then editing things on the main page and coming back, polyphony is set to 8 again. This really feels like a public Beta release, but I still love it.

And it just happened again, as soon as I close my DAW, all the presets I just saved into my target bank are lost again, see screenshot:Sampleconstruct wrote:But that's what I did, my target bank was Simon's Bank which is now empty and was fillted with about 15 presets last night.origwt wrote:its better to save the presets you want to collect in a TARGET bank.origwt wrote:the problem could be that the DAW is loading another bank as you might think.origwt wrote:sorry about that.Sampleconstruct wrote:So I open my Bank I had saved yesterday after fixing permissions only to find that all the presets are gone and only one is left - named Init1, which was the one I save several days ago. when you click the SAVE BANK button on the browser page, the fxp bank is updated !
that has nothing to do with the aupresets.

And what about that FXB file? Is it empty, or does it contain the presets you did? Can it be that you are saving the bank as FXB, even if you are using AU version of the instrument?Sampleconstruct wrote: And it just happened again, as soon as I close my DAW, all the presets I just saved into my target bank are lost again, see screenshot:
I ask this because you mentionted a TARGET "bank" and there is no such thing as AU "bank", just individual preset files. Sorry if I am stating the obvious...
EDIT: I see that someone already mentioned this

the FXB is a closed format, I can't see what's in it. Maybe with a text editor, I'll try.fmr wrote:And what about that FXB file? Is it empty, or does it contain the presets you did? so the FXB had also a wrong permissions setting, that's why the presets don't save permanently, it was set to “read&write“ for my name and for “read only“ for admins which again is a contradiction. I repaired permissions for the main folder last night after discovering this, and obviously I did not change permissions for the FXB, Jesus what a waste of time.Sampleconstruct wrote:the FXB is a closed format, I can't see what's in it. it seem to be a problem with the installer, that the base folder has wrong permission

Damn it, even after repairing permissions the presets don't save, it seems the FXB does not react at all, it shows the presets are added, and they appear in a list, then you close the DAW, reopen and BAM. I'm out of here for now...Sampleconstruct wrote:so the FXB had also a wrong permissions setting, that's why the presets don't save permanently, it was set to “read&write“ for my name and for “read only“ for admins which again is a contradiction. It looks like your installer changed the permission of the main Main HD/Library/Audio/“Presets“ folder which contains thousands of presets from all sorts of plugins.origwt wrote:oh, too bad, i'm sorry.Sampleconstruct wrote:so the FXB had also a wrong permissions setting, that's why the presets don't save permanently, it was set to “read&write“ for my name and for “read only“ for admins which again is a contradiction. when you save a bank (with the SAVE BANK button on the browser page) the fxb gets updated. you can see that in the Mac Finder.Sampleconstruct wrote:Damn it, even after repairing permissions the presets don't save, it seems the FXB does not react at all, it shows the presets are added, and they appear in a list, then you close the DAW, reopen and BAM. then when you start your DAW and load the bank manually in again you will find the correct last saved content.
