sometimes, we just have to remember that AU presets and the relative DAW folders have a different function that:
phonem.fxb + phonem.utd...
( only a few informations are kept in AU descriptions )
phonem.fxb + phonem.utd...

I'm out of here for now...Sampleconstruct wrote:so the FXB had also a wrong permissions setting, that's why the presets don't save permanently, it was set to “read&write“ for my name and for “read only“ for admins which again is a contradiction. I repaired permissions for the main folder last night after discovering this, and obviously I did not change permissions for the FXB, Jesus what a waste of time.Sampleconstruct wrote:the FXB is a closed format, I can't see what's in it. Maybe with a text editor, I'll try.fmr wrote:And what about that FXB file? Is it empty, or does it contain the presets you did? Can it be that you are saving the bank as FXB, even if you are using AU version of the instrument?Sampleconstruct wrote: And it just happened again, as soon as I close my DAW, all the presets I just saved into my target bank are lost again, see screenshot:
I ask this because you mentiontied a TARGET "bank" and there is no such thing as AU "bank", just individual preset files. Sorry if I am stating the obvious...
then when you start your DAW and load the bank manually in again you will find the correct last saved content.
i just did this test:
installed the release version of Phonem.
started the plugin, it comes up with the "Factories" bank.
go to the browser page
click NEW BANK with a name "aaa"
then select a preset in the list.
click COPY TO TARG (on the left side)
do that with some presets.
now load this "aaa" bank in the ACTIVE BANK
and you will find the programs you have copied in.

I think the missing link in my brain was to save the Bank after saving the presets into the Bank which seems to be an unusual extra step which I am not used to. So all of this was probably a storm in a teacup, still the permission thing seems wrong.

it's better to save each step of edits, as different colors of a vowel or a filter or ....+ progs and bank ...there are different layers in a preset build... the final version(s) can be copied in a " finals bank "...

if you have permissions doubts, make a copy of everything you made, and re install all... but if you are bot sure , don't touch

A screenshot of the polyphony problem, the pitch bend range seems to be untouched by this problem, but polyphony always resets to 8 here.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

polyphony is not in the preset.
it can be different for each instance.

i tested it and yes you are right.Sampleconstruct wrote:But it resets constantly to eight, please read my posts again.
in the moment there is a limit of 8 voices.
less voices do not reset to 8 but higher values.
i correct that in the update.

I think you would do well to include Simon ( Sampleconstruct ) in future Beta testing for new products
Speaking of new products...
Whats the likelyhood of getting an Effect plugin based on the Resonator Editor from Phenom ?

Some more questions, as I can't find it in the manual and I think I have thoroughly looked for it:
When set to Markers, how do I control the speed with which the utterances are performed, as the time envelope does not apply in that mode?
Why is the frame position of the synthesized speech not available as a target in the mod matrix, so I could assign e.g. the modulation wheel to frame position and scroll through the utterances with the wheel or assign velocity to it which would make for some very expressive instruments?
How can I tempo-sync the time envelope, or better why can we not sync it?

A minor niggle- the length knob is constrained in it's motion (using up/down motion with the mouse). I see that the selected phoneme frame is moving in it's allotted space, but when released, the knob will go all the way to the full clockwise/counter-clockwise extents (as intended). Intuitively, it seems that the knob would turn smoothly from zero to full length without constraint. I still know too little to talk intelligently beyond this. Regardless, it's functional, it just seemed at first to be another case of unresponsive knobs, like I would see when running old 32 bit synths in a wrapper.
Edit: I do see that it's tied to settings for Blend and Steep. So It seems that it should scale itself when those other knobs are adjusted. Again, not a functional dealbreaker.

in Markers, Complete, Frame, Head, Tail modes the normal speed is used which cannot be changed. These modes are mainly for testing and editing the utterance.Sampleconstruct wrote:Some more questions, as I can't find it in the manual and I think I have thoroughly looked for it:

its the U - the tooltip says: position control phonemes 1 and 2Sampleconstruct wrote:Why is the frame position of the synthesized speech not available as a target in the mod matrix, so I could assign e.g. the modulation wheel to frame position and scroll through the utterances with the wheel or assign velocity to it which would make for some very expressive instruments?
there are 3 sync modes to sync the tempo. please see the Access modes: Host A, AS, AY.Sampleconstruct wrote:How can I tempo-sync the time envelope, or better why can we not sync it?
especially the AY is very powerful.
i made a tutorial video on syncing:
