I dont know if bitwig needs to fix this, your clap is RAW.. but not a full bar long. Make it a full bar, not your clap, but the clip where it is in. You,ve got snap to objects on and absolute snapping off. ????? Then its no wonder why this is happening...

Please wlisten to what i said since i mention and talked about snap to object specific . i talk about the aspect why i shiftet the clip. The clap is full bar long i shiftet clip so its like that. As i said in video that you did not watch is that i discussed how horrible it works and i used snap to object on only to prove my point. please watch video and comment again after. Maybe this does not concern you but its a problem however

I used snap to object only o prove that its got shiftet not because of timeline but that it snaps to clips from other tracks as well. Which is super annoying and can cause so many problem along the way especially if a clip is shifted or you have uneven long clips that is not 1 bar or half bar symetric.

Oh man.. thats one of the things why i discontinued using bitwig since 1.1 and I hoped they already fixed this behaviour.
In no other DAW this mass happens!

How slow the audio engine is to start and how it sometimes needs restarting when I load a plugin.

yeah, i have it. in the beginning its ok, but when the project gets bigger this shit happens. i was sooo lazy to report about it(im more lazy to find out how to record from the screen). thankfully somebody started this topic.

Only 1 annoying thing? You're doing better than me fella :hihi:

i have to agree to this. I understand about the snapping options etc but in real life workflow many times i've been working on a project only to realise to my horror that there are tiny gaps and stuff crept in and then i have spent hours manually correcting it.

i'm not saying that it's not because of user error in terms of me needing to be more careful, but the simple fact is that this is very annoying and only happens in bitwig. I'm sure anybody coming from another DAW will eventually run into this issue.

Yes this is an horror that creeps up yours spine when happening after hours of work. Then just f**k what happened? Automation points everything there is fixing and trixing and more. I repported this to bitwig also sent same video :) I hope they get it. Please feel free all to say your thoughts about this to bitwig :) To me this is a bug. it works probably as intented. but its wierd allowing to snap clips to other tracks clips and can really mess things up. Especially if you wana copy large portions because then you cant zoom in and really check if its okey. Like you say... this only happens in bitwig. its not something you expect the user to check each and every time because it should be smoth allready but but there it is

Easiest way to avoid what you show in the vid (had the same issues before) is don't select and drag to copy parts. Firstly disable the last 2 snap icons in the bottom right and use the range tool to highlight the parts you want to copy and press copy. Then click on the line of the bar/beat you want things to copy to and press paste. No more bloody out of time tracks on the second drop :hihi:

To copy automation obviously make sure the move parts with automation tab is on at the top and draw in a long ass part on all groups and master tracks. Move those master parts on the groups and master track and the automation on them will follow, delete the parts once moved. It's long winded but hopefully better ways to work are coming. A clip arranger track would really be helpful as i have to go into Crashbase/Cubase to make edits because the arranger track in there is sooo damn good :dog:
