Easiest way to avoid what you show in the vid (had the same issues before) is don't select and drag to copy parts. Firstly disable the last 2 snap icons in the bottom right and use the range tool to highlight the parts you want to copy and press copy. To copy automation obviously make sure the move parts with automation tab is on at the top and draw in a long ass part on all groups and master tracks. Move those master parts on the groups and master track and the automation on them will follow, delete the parts once moved. It's long winded but hopefully better ways to work are coming. A clip arranger track would really be helpful as i have to go into Crashbase/Cubase to make edits because the arranger track in there is sooo damn good :dog:

Try the one next to it called relative snap and do one track at a time instead of many. I think it works like you want it then. I never work like this though. I shift the audio inside the clip container most of the time and make sure my clips are not shifted off the grid. That way when I loop it or duplicate its never out.

I think its weird when you try to do lots of tracks together like you do also Id use time selection tool instead when there is a lot that is off the grid like someone said. Also I never use object snapping. I always Shift in the container itself. Try that instead. I think you'll see it works alot better.

In your video, you have Object snapping turned on. That is why it snaps to the other clips. Turn that off and turn on absolute snapping. Then it will only snap to the grid.

And one thing with that, when you select a bunch of clips and alt drag a copy, make sure you click on one of the clips that is exactly on the grid when you alt-drag. If you click on the offset clip to alt-drag it will snap that clip to the grid which you don't want.

Do that way you will not have this problem of gaps and you can depend on it.

Omg why you think i turned the other settings off in the video? You see if i selected the wrong clip forst when reqreating this you guys would say its because of absolute snapping. So i turned it off to prove that the cause is because of snap to objects. I know what i am doing. the problem with bitwigs workflow is that you have to turn off and on things to be able to do different movement because of how bad its implemented. Workflow destroyer and i never seen a daw handle this so bad. The reason is that it snaps objects to other tracks as well. Wish is not useful. Because sometimes when you are in workflow you forget to turn it off because you just used it somewhere along project.

Get it now? Not everybody is perfect in using it and shifting 100 percent all time. Objects shouldnt snapp to objects of other tracks. Make it idiot proof

Ps i use snaps to objects in video to show that its snaps to objects that mess it up so please dont say that its because off that. Because its the only thing i talk about in the video right? That would mean i understand what i am saylng and what i say in the video is if id didnt snapp to other objects to objects on another track at all then this wouldnt happen either. I am trying to help bitwig to devolope the daw. I am not trying to use it what some people call correctly in a video because i wana show the exact scenario that can happen with objects to snapping.

Read this! I will now lock thread because some people simply didnt not understand this. Its better that way because i did not post this to show how i sould use bitwig to avoid this. I posted it to exactly show the reason behind this. Many agree with me and they understood my purpose of the video also.

Maybe i'm missing something obvious, but why do you activate object snapping if you don't want it to snap to objects?
