Opposing to the official GForce website and many others JRR Shop usually does not add additional VAT, also not here in Germany where usually you have to pay 19% VAT.

Current price at Gforce is 116.66 GBP = 176.45 $. With additional 19% VAT it would be 210 $.
This means here in Germany the price at JRR Shop is cheaper than directly at GForce who always add additional VAT.

There are a couple of companies which don't charge Europeans VAT, but I wonder if it is legal

Guys but why Talk about vat now...... otherwise shit gets more shittier.

Oddity2 leaves me somehow cold. Needs more options.

It is an emulation and already goes beyond the original. So what are you missing?

I like its sound, but like so many synths it fails in terms of GUI. I mean, it looks good at first, but using it is a pita.

i miss chors etc. and the GUI is awkward :(
reading the bad reputation they got for updates i pass on this. it costs the same as arturia collection ;D

Just got Oddity 2 from JRR Shop using the KVR discount and also no VAT needed there which here in Germany saved a lot compared to buying at the official GForce website.

Thomann urrently offered the Korg ARP Odyssey (orange version) for 899 Eurios and i was really tempted to get one.
Anyway it is stil lalot compared to Oddity 2 and while solund wise i would prefer the Korg ARP Odyssey (that i checked/tested a few times alraedy) the plugin has several advantages besides the price that are difficult to ignore. One of the reasons is that the hardware has no patch memory.

The advanced modulation features in Oddity 2 are cool as basically for each fader you could add it's own modulation ADSR enveloep and/or LFO (they appear at the upper part when changing a value of teh fader or clicking at the fader).
The option to use polyphony of course is cool too compared to the real thing.

Actually now i have a quite big collection of ARP emulations:
- Odyssey : GForce Oddity 2
- ARP 2600 : Arturia ARP 2600V2 + WayOutWare TimewARP 2600
- Axxe : WayOutWare KikAxxe (has a built-in drum synth and step sequencer)
- Solina (ARP/Eminent) : Arturia Solina V
- Pro Soloist : ProSoloVST + a Kontakt library
- Quadra : Synth Magic Sounds Of the Quadra (Kontakt instrument with GUI like the real thing)

It's really funny to see when Arturia 2600V that have no realtion to 2600 sound is mentioned as emulation of Arp 2600.

Twice funny in thread about good emulation of ARP Odyssey.

Confirm that. It's best vst with ARP sound on market but UI is really painful and not resizable. Totally wrong combination for 30" owners.
Murderous duck!

I bought it when first released on presale and I like it a lot but I've been anxiously awaiting some sort of update to polish it up. The sound is there though for me. Sits in a mix great next to other modern soft synths. Nice to have. really haven't done much deep programming on it yet but I like the morph feature. It feels very modular and analogue like all g force offerings. It does NOT do the stacked and detuned super saws so don't go there. It's to get that analogue sound in your mix.

Couldnt find such an option to make Sounds wider.
just use 2 instances and pan one max right, the other max left and delay the midi notes by 1/64

In Oddity 2 there is a "Spread" fader at the upper right in the "Output" section. With the "Pan" button imn the same section you could switch between two modes called "Spread" or "Random".

Two nice additions in Oddity 2 are teh Sub Osc and teh option to add additional ADSR envelopes (actually you could use a different one for each fader). I always found it a problem in both the Odyssey and ARP 2600 that the second envelope was just a simple AR and not ADSR.

Programming an ARP Odyssey is not simple but that's teh same with the hardware. It uses faders instead of knobs for most parameters which is unusual and some parameters work differently to other synths. For example OSc waveshapes are switch within the mixer, not directly in the Osc sections.
Also you do not have simple octave switches but a continuous Osc frequency setting. This mean you mostly have to set this "by ear" or using an additional tuner plugin.

As i laready tried to mention i thought about buying a Korg ARP Odyssey but it is still too expensive compared to the plugin (while the Korg hardware is much cheaper than a vintage Odyssey). Anyway while Oddity 2 sounds great i do not think that sound wise Oddity 2 is a 100% proper replacement yet.
Maybe it also the built-in Drive that i prefer in the Korg ARP Odysseyy. With Schwa Oligarc Drive added (the Drive aso included in Olga) Oddity 2 could sound reall "evil" and close to rip some balls off. With adding Waves OneKnob Phatter this gets even more serious...

Since i tested teh Korg ARP Odyssey i really felt the need to have an Odyssey in my setup, either as hardware or a plugin. The additional features in the plugin are quite useful but i hope they could also add a nice Drive FX in a future update. I also love the analog drive included in my Pulse 2 (actually it has 2 modes).

Ingo, you are missing the point a bit. It's totally not about ARP Odyssey control specific - they are non-standard but there are logic that quite easy to adopt - there are plenty of worse examples in synth/modular world. But oddity 2 VST UI general look & feel is completely horrible up to the level of eye bleeding. GForce definetely can do better -- Imposcar 2 is eye pleasant + it has resizable GUI.

Mabye at my quite big display at my dekstop PC with full HD resoultion it looks a bit better so not so much a problem there, the size of teh GUI also seems to be adapted to the higher resolution (size looks normal, not too small). Maybe at a notebook with a 13" display it's another story.

Anyway GUI design is also a matter of taste and a GUI that is OK for some people is horrible for others.

On my very standard 30" with 2560 x 1600 resolutio labels are simploe not readable - and that's just one example
