I think the topic explains the question quite clearly: I'd like to know if there is any convenience ( Cpu-wise) to combine the effects in Mxxx instead of keeping them out of it.

I believe the cpu is actually lower in MXXX. If not then it will be soon, I remember Vojtech saying he had found a way of making the cpu lower in MXXX than the equivalent plugin.
You can test this yourself, in settings you can check.
Even if it's the same, it would be worth putting the FX inside of MXXX anyway, because of the other obvious benefits.

Well, technically all plugin interfaces have some overhead, AU for example has a huge overhead, the AU design is horrible...
So if you open MXXX and run multiple plugins inside it, the overhead is exchanged for internal routing overhead, which is much lower, so yes, it can be faster. Also in the future I'd like some parallelization as I recently found there's a lot of unused potential on highly multicore machines, so there MXXX could provide lots of additional improvement.
