Is there a way to select all notes with the same note value (such as all middle c) in a clip for editting?
I couldn't sort it last night, but maybe I was too tired. :)

What I'm trying to do is cut and paste the kick drum from one track to another. I guess I could copy the whole clip and delete the parts I don't want on the new track, but that seems like the long way 'round.

Select one note then in the bottom part you have a button "select>".
Click on it then on "select all notes with the same pitch"....

Doh!
What can I say... it was late last night.
Thanks Ixox!

An even faster way is to Control-click on the piano roll. It will select all the notes with the same pitch as the key you hit.

Wow. Is that documented somewhere? Or did you just stumble across it by accident? Seems like I'm always reading something like this about T and then thinking "I didn't know I could do that!"

I'm pretty sure somebody here told me about it. So I'm just passing it on to you. 8)

It might be documented somewhere. I'm not sure tho, I dont remember ever reading the Tracktion manual :-o . I was up and running within 10 minutes, then I stumbled on a lot of features. And all the cool people in this forum helped me out with the rest. :)

Thanks all, for the help. Everyone seems really helpful here.
I do have one more question along the same lines...
Once I get my notes copied to the clipboard is it possible to paste them into a different midi clip? Everytime I try it, T tells me there's nothing to paste. I've been able to figure out almost everything else about Tracktion (including Racks) except this midi editing stuff. It's driving me crazy.

Yup you can copy notes and paste them into other clips. Just grab the selection tool "S", select the notes and control-C (copy). Then click on the clip you want to paste them to and paste (control-V). Or if you want to copy the whole clip just control-drag it.

Thanks again, AD80.
cntrl V was the part of the equation I was missing. Using the keyboard shortcuts works fine, but when I try to paste using the "paste " button at the bottom of the screen, it still tells me there's nothing to paste. Weird.
Oh well, at least I've got the functionality with the shortcuts. Thanks alot!
