I want to be the first to beta test your synth. In fact, I want my name engraved on my copy.Taron wrote:Mahahaha, thank you, Wag! Yeah, I'm sorry, too...it looks like it could do crazy stuff. At the same time I find it utterly encouraging in regards to my own synth. I think, it'll be a real breath of fresh air, once it's done!![]()

And here I thought you might ask for my autograph on it.... ah well.

...I think, you should first give it a whirl before offering too much enthusiasm for it in advance, haha. But I'm trying to give it good strength, I really am!
...loads left to learn, though.

I too had these problems to start with. Forget 64bit DAW just use 32 bit, even then it is power hungry and at least slightly unstable. However, getting the fxb to work:Taron wrote:Uhm...I haven't read through all the comments, but I can't get this thing to work properly at all. Even under 32bit, loading the fxb preset bank won't play a single sound. JBridged this thing bugs out when reopening the interface. Under 32bit I can't use Midi inputs... so... fun idea, but that's that.
(Note to self: Have plenty of people alpha- and beta test my VST before even bothering to suggest it to the OSC!)![]()
Looking forward to what you guys come up with this thing...
Patch 1 will not play at all, but select one of the others and then you have to press 'set to channel' at the right of the patch name for it to work, otherwise stays on the previous loaded sound (even though all the displays change for you to edit that patch, you can edit one patch while playing another this way.)
Also, someone posted a patchbank by Tinga earlier in this thread. Beware some of these are based on samples

Sorry, Dee, no help this time around. Slava helped me a little with the tip to import the midi file that comes with the zip into my DAW after importing the fxb into the vst. In MuLab I then had to reassign all tracks to the same rack and select respective midi channels instead, which then only revealed that under 64bit it would crackle, hang and stutter through those sequences, as if your 16 core, 40Ghz processing power suddenly transformed into a casio pocket calculator, probably because this BR808 is not compiled as multi threaded DLL, which should be a must, but somehow they've managed to get around it, haha... so... ahm... oh, I already gave the short answer above already: "no help this time around".

You can import the FXB and export each FXP and then import these in an instance of the synth that works.

According to BR808 website:Taron wrote:probably because this BR808 is not compiled as multi threaded DLL:

If I had the time, i'd do a video tutorial on this thing. It would give me a chance to test my new video program that supposedly works with Cubase (Camtasia doesn't) to record Cubase and voiceover. I first have to find the darn thing on my hard drive as I haven't installed it yet. I don't even remember what it's called. LOL.

Well then, either it's in conflict with MuLab's multithreading support, or the 64bit bridged version causes those extra troubles, who knows...animehaus wrote:According to BR808 website:Taron wrote:probably because this BR808 is not compiled as multi threaded DLL:

I found the program. It's Voicemeeter and I just installed it. Now I have to figure out how to integrate it with Cubase and Camtasia and then find the time to do it.

And thank you to Animehaus for the heads up about this synth.

Ugh...I think, there's a slightly deceptive problem with that stuff, because it supports the use of samples and one can pretty likely tell what were samples and what not. That being said, I'm sure this thing can sound pretty tremendous. Pity...

Okay, after watching 3 video tutorials (I am such a fricking idiot with technology) I finally got Cubase 7 to work with Voicemeeter, my Logitech headset and Camtasia. So I will be doing a quick down and dirty video tutorial on the BR808 for anybody who was as confused as I was when first opening this thing. I will cover the basics so that you can essentially use it as a basic subtractive/additive synth and get basic sounds out of it without pulling your hair out. There are only really a few things that you have to do. The rest, of the more in depth sound design, comes down to your creativity. But this video that's coming SHOULD give you a solid enough foundation. I will be assuming basic synth knowledge in going through this so it's not for total beginners.
I'll try to have it done within the next hour or so.
