A purchase of the Element Synth now will come with one year of free updates and support.
This will include the update to Element 2 which should be out shortly.

So 2 Synthesizers for 1 Price ;)

At that price it is OK (although I would not want to buy via one of those dubious sites, I mean, why would they sell that stuff so cheap? Either Waves or the shop know it is not worth more than that), but compared to the new version of Retrologue, Element is very basic, and the differences between v1 and v2 are ridiculous compared to the two Retrologue versions. Saying you get 2 Element synths for that price is odd, they are much too similar.
Still, the official price of Element is actually higher than that of Retrologue, which is absurd.

audiodeluxe dubious?

Interesting approach, you prefer paying full rather than discounted price? :?

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

I don't believe in that whole discount mentality, it gives products a cheap touch. If something is crap, I don't want it, and if it is good, I want to pay a decent price for it and not see it given away almost for free. Of course Waves might themselves think that their Element is actually not worth its price, I don't know. But if they are not convinced of their product, why would I be and want it?

But even 41 dollars is kind of a waste when you compare that synth to the new Retrologue, I think I better save my money for that. Plus, minor upgrades and bug fixes are free with Steinberg, no WUP required.

Post

Mhm
Retrologue new price 99 Euro
Retrologue upgrade price 49 Euro

At Steinberg they are only "minor bug" fixing included xD
The rest cost you every year 59 Euro and 150 Euro for Upgrading, (the reason why I doesn't work in my life with Cubase)

But Retrologue v2 is now a proper 3xOSC VA plug (where it before was 2xOSC + a sub OSC)

How can Element v2 cope with that?

The new version comes with:

High-resolution oscillators – uncompromising fidelity across the full range.
Zero delay feedback filters – faithfully replicating analogue filters behavior and character.
Vastly improved anti-aliasing – free of digital artifacts even at extreme settings.
Updated envelope behavior – closely mimicking the curve response of analogue components.

This sounds for me very good.
I don't like the E-Licenser thing with Steinberg Products.
