You babble on Taron. It's great to see a genius at work. LOL.Taron wrote:That's what I wrote: Wet down to -infinity and Dry up. Why [x]active on reverb would turn off the whole sound is anybody's guess, hahaha.mehum wrote:
Oh, and Taron, you can disable the reverb an the first page by bringing down the reverb slider and up the output slider.
Must say this thing sounds really good one you actually get some sound out of it![]()
You can set targets to the modulations, by the way, targeting specific oscillators or filters and so on, just like you can pick specific envelopes. It is actually rather nice, but NOT NEAT. It's really, really coarse. But as you've said, it can get some really interesting sounds. It's sensitive, though, pretty shaky as though it was soon to blow a fuse or so, haha.
Anyway, after I pulled myself together for 5 minutes and went 32bit, it took only 5 more minutes to pretty much understand this whole thing give or take a few of the weirder effect section and the detailed filter options. I so understand why he did that, haha, I was gonna add a number of options into mine, too, but decided to just stick with my own invention on the filter. I might add moog, though... sry, babbling to myself.

Don't do it like that, use the global page on the instrument page and determine how much volume you want to send to the FX and use the Output slider there !mehum wrote:

When I close up the GUI in Cubase and try to reopen it, I'm getting JBridge dispatcher code errors before the GUI finally reopens. I've seen this before with other 32 bit plugs. Eventually, if I try to load too many into Cubase, the project just crashes, so I'm going to have to either make this a very sparse arrangement or freeze each track as I do them.
Either way, this month is going to be a literal challenge to get this done.
But I will say this much. I'm having a ball with this synth because as buggy as it might be, it's very deep.

Well, sadly, I don't think I'm going to be able to pull this off. Added my 4th track and started working on a snare when, after adding my 4th FX to the chain, Cubase just locked up and I lost my latest work and had to reboot the whole system because UR28M locks up as well.
It's an interesting synth but just too buggy and JBridge, which has been a huge disappointment since getting it, just isn't doing a good enough job.
My best to those entering. I'll still do video tutorials for anybody who needs help with stuff as one instance is stable enough.

Few months back .. When I was figuring out various functions of FL Studio, I could not find how to use midi out function to different channels in mixer so that I can apply different effects and for each "MIDI Out"end instrument. Can one instance of plugin by using MIDI out function be routed to many mixer channels...in FLS..?animehaus wrote:Sure, simply use the "Midi Out" plugin on FL Studio.aluode wrote:This is one heavy beast.. It takes forever to save projects on my dual core celeron laptop and
flstudio 12 with 4 instances.. I probably have to do a pretty light song..
Somehow I get the idea that on some daws you can use a single instance which will play
16 different instruments. Is it possible to do that on FLstudio?
Antti
16 MIDI Out plugins + 1 BR808 instance will work like 16 BR808 instances, but using much less CPU and RAM.
Only one instance of BR808 shoot CPU load to around 25%...
Thanks.

Thanks a lot... Wag sir..! This is surely going to help everybody. Much respect.wagtunes wrote:Okay, it's quick, it's dirty and it ain't elegant but here's a video that I hope will get people started who are as totally dumbfounded by this thing as I was when I first opened it up.
I will take requests for specific topics to do tutorials on if I get the time.
Hope this helps.

But yes, this was what I was trying convey
Now you can deactivate the reverb and perhaps save some cpu cycles.

Arrggh this thing is quite unituitive to me with all the tabs, global/non global stuff, etc.. But it is a real monster in features
Dunno yet if this is enough fun to use though, for me personally. The fun factor is really important to me. I have to 'click' with an instrument to be inspired and get the best out of it. Especially for participating with an OSC, which I actually was interested in doing this month.
I'm getting some cpu spikes too on my old laptop. Tip: do not change GUI colours while running

One instance gives you at least 16 instruments.Dee.P.Tree wrote:MidiOut Stuff
Just set each instrument to a different channel inside BR 808 (you have to assign an instrument number to a channel, then click on the "Set to channel" button to save the setting, it is a little confusing i think)
Then route midi out accordingly. I havent tested if you can assign several instruments to the same channel.
128 instruments for 16 channels^^
The lazy way
In the piano roll, each color correspond to a midi channel. No tweaking required.
But guaranted to drive you insane in the long run. You have to remember which color is which instrument and good luck seeing the differences beetween the green and lesser green notes.
The lesser lazy way
I created two quick templates for fl studio (im on 11, i dislike 12 gui, feels cluncky, makes me feel nauseatous something, lack of contrast chewing gum design i dont know i get sick)
Anyway^^ (sorry):
-One template with 16 midi out (instruments 0 to 015)
-Another one with 16 midi out AND dedicated FX channels
Global is on FX1, and each subsequent instrument is split into left right channels.
(when using the automap function)
Hope this helps. Enjoy.

Not sure if someone already mentioned it, but you can route whaterver oscs to same filters, envelopes, etc via the mod matrix via the number slots beneath the target and sources
Select source as env, the number below narrows down which envelope to assign to, then select filter as target and 1-8 again refers to which filter to use.

Has anyone figured out the color combo to make a hotdog stand color scheme?
This was going to be the month I step into this contest... but I can't get any remotely consistent behavior out of this thing. Even cloning it in FL Studio, one has completely different behavior than the other. Notes unregistered, audio dropouts, etc.
It's a shame, because digging through the parameters of this thing, it looks insanely capable. Subtractive/additive, FM/AM/PM, speech synthesis (which will totally be my favorite part of this competition), a kajillion effects and oscillators and envelopes and modulation sources/targets. And I like its style, I love quirkiness, but only reliable quirkiness. This thing would be a dream, if it worked.
I would love to meet the developer of this synth. What I love most is that its layout is actually logical if you forget the conventions of synth interfaces. Like if you were a programmer from another world and this was the first synth you came across, it would actually make sense with its nested menus and simultaneous multipages.
Benjamin Rosseaux, you magnificent bastard. How many hours of brilliant, painstaking work did it take to make this complete abortion.

I agree. I don't even dare try to load it again. The last session ended in Auxiliary Host crashes. Multiple ones. Cubase almost didn't even restart after rebooting my PC.The Chase wrote:Has anyone figured out the color combo to make a hotdog stand color scheme?

This is such a terrible shame because I actually love this synth after learning how to use it but it's so unstable, even with JBridge, that's it's just unusable.
I don't think I've ever been this disappointed to have to say goodbye to a VST.
