Pretty solid here even with lack of 10.9.5 support. Definitely worth it.

It's a little sad after 20 years of VST that all it takes is a stray one slightly misbehaving to completely crash Cubase. Of all the companies, Steinberg really should've been first to market with some kind of sandboxing solution for their own format.MFXxx wrote:Not experienced that at all. open closed it half a dozen times with dozen plus plugins loaded. maybe one of your vst causing it?Keith99 wrote:I just had a quick test and I am liking it, only negative was a crash on exit, I am hoping that was a one off

I'm surprised that Steinberg didn't send out an email. I just found out from a Youtube email with selections from various posters that I follow. I thought it was a mistake until I watched the video. Looks pretty good to me. I'll jump onboard later tonight.

Seriously. Bastards. I had 50 bucks to spend yesterday and thought about holding onto it and just waiting for the update but I bought the Granduer from NI instead. I wake up today "Out not, Cubase 8.5" FAILrustman wrote:I'm surprised that Steinberg didn't send out an email. You got to know when the hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, and know when to run.ckam03 wrote:Seriously. Bastards. Could well be but it never happened prior to 8.5. TBF I have not tested it much yet

I wish it had inherited my preferences from v.8. I just spent a long time setting it up, making my project template again, figuring out the color scheme, etc.
After that though, I think it rocks so far. Really love being able to import tracks from other projects in seconds! I haven't gotten far yet, but I'm pleased. Looking forward to checking out R2.

Ok... but would be more useful if the "New Features" section actually told us what these new features actually were.Famed from day one for its MIDI editing toolset, Cubase now offers even more tools and options when manipulating MIDI data, with added tools for both the Key and Drum Editors.
Anyone with 8.5 able to elaborate on what these mysterious new buttons and features are? (a timestretch midi selection within the PRV would be good, rather than doing it in the clip/arranger view)
