Egoist (iPad) with MusicIO - play button problems

Hello,
Just bought Egoist for iPad and I think it's fabulous. Now I'd like to send the audio into my DAW - Digital Performer. I'm using MusicIO as a way of sending the audio into DP.

The problem is there's no way to play anything in Egoist. In place of the usual play button in Egoist, the button now says IAA. When I press on it I get a drop down window with four buttons -- a backwards button (presumably to jump to the start of the pattern), a play button, a red record button, and an icon of MusicIO. None of these do anything.

I understand that IAA stands for inter-audio app, and that it's probably treating MusicIO more like a host / DAW. But MusicIO doesn't have any of its own transport buttons. I know that the audio from Egoist is working: when I tap on any section of audio in the slicer, I hear the audio through MusicIO.

I'm not trying to do anything fancy here -- just trying to send audio into DP. I've no need for MIDI to go in either direction.

My specs:
iPad with OS 8.4.1
Egoist iPad version 1.0.11
MusicIO version 1.40
Mac OS 10.7.5
Update: I've discovered that if I have the green pattern button pressed inside Egoist, it will play that a selected pattern as long as I have the button held down. But it's not easy to jump from pattern to pattern exactly in time. There seems to be no possibility of playing the blue part button or red song button.
