Hi everybody,

as I want to link a parameter to midi velocity, I'm searching for the follower mode of modulators and multiparmameters.
It's written that it can be find under a modulator mode named "follower" (MPowerSynth pdf doc).
Maybe I'm getting crazy but I can't find it.

Did I miss something ?
Can somebody please help me ?

Thanks :)

Hi nico,

I looks like some mistake in docs (they are generated, so some things are cloned from effects). Anyway just click MIDI button (right bottom) and all sorts of MIDI things are there ;).

Hi Meldaproduction man :) (Vojtech ?)

Thanks for your reply.
I thought it was a copy from the effects documentations.
Anyway, thanks for your tips, it helped me a lot.

For me, the "big factory" aspect of Melda's plugin's is both the good and the bad point.
Hopfully, you'r always there to solve problems, etc., so "bad points" disapeared thanks to your help and explanations :)

As it take me some time to find out the way to set up a midi velocity follower parameter, and as I think others could like to know how to do so, let me explain a little bit :
*click MIDI button (right bottom)
*in the right row, chose the parmameter you want to control
*on the left choose "controller" > "velocity (on)" (right bottom)
It's done :)

Yes! ;)
Hopefully there will be new video tutorials in the future.

OK, I see how the previous handles MIDI velocity, but I am a at a bit of a loss regarding several pieces of documentation.

There are Follower mode and Pitch mode sections for modulators in both the manual as well as the help (?) controls (for Modulators), but I don't see either.

Confounding this is the Changelog from 9.00 which states:

"Modulators heavily redesigned - added an extremely powerful metering system to follower & envelope modes, Envelope audio-detector mode has been completely redesigned to provide a great response and versatility, added pitch & transient detection mode for follower/envelope mode in modulators."

What am I missing? (Looking at v9.13)

Follower and pitch mods are for audio input only, as MPowerSynth doesn't have an audio input they are not there.
Does this answer your question?
If not please explain and I will try to help.

Hi jmg8,

Many thanks for your quick reply.

If I understand you correctly, the manual describes (in great detail) 5 modes for the modulators (Normal, Follower, Envelope, Random, and Pitch), but only 3 of those modes are actually there (because the missing 2 can't be applied to any internal signalling sources; understood on the lack of any audio input to the synth itself), and the same goes for the Context help (the '?') for that same Modulator section within MPowerSynth itself.

And the Changelog (as quoted above, for v9.00) is equally misguided.

Have I got that right?

Regards (and thanks again),

rj

Yes, that's correct. Many of the plugins share features like mods, multiparameter, midi, presets etc
So rather than re writing the manual every time for each plugin. Some blocks of text are simply copied across to other manuals. Unfortunately sometimes it can mean that the info isn't correct. But the poor guy is coding on his own and would need to update/rewrite the manual for about 80 plugins! So we can let him off.

If you open MPowerSynth inside of MXXX you can use the two modulators that you mentioned as MXXX has an audio input.

Hi jmg8,

Many thanks. That clears up a lot of confusion.

Sadly, no, I don't have MXXX, but good to know.

Take care (and thanks again),
