Yeah, lotta love for Liveslice here, but you just can't get it anymore. Dev moved on to bigger and better things I understand. Would love to see it set free.

MUX Modular can do sample slicing and can do all kinds of processing to the slices. Demo version on http://www.mutools.com/mux-downloads.html

+1 for this. Liveslice was the best.

Did LiveSlice ever get a 64bit update? I think the last version I downloaded was 1.5 ... great slicer.

If they didn't update to 64-bit then it's 50 Euro for a 32-bit plugin. Pass!

Redukt wrote:Image Line's SliceX is what i'd recommend - cheap, frequently on sale (got it for around 15$ or something), able to drag and drop slices in your DAW and the several ways to automatically MIDI map those slices. Best slicer tool around, imho.

Works standalone, too.
Thanks for saving me money. Facepalm moment... This is included in FL Studio but I have never looked at it. Silly me - searching for something that's right under my nose! I'll delve into it for sure.

Thanks from my side as well, haven`t been much into it so far.
Price range and daw independent vst unit looks like a serious contender to Vice.
If on Christmas sale, could be something for having under the tree.

liveslice was the best
no 64bit
no mac
no support
what a shame...

vice is cool in that you get all the FX per slice
plus amp envelope and transpose...
dunno what the others do...

+1 for slicex, very underated. (hardly rated at least:)
geist is very good to, but more expensive. but great at slicing and dumping to patterns and score etc..
there are loads of sample player/slicers in reaktor libraries to, so if you have that you will be in hog heaven.

You can download free version of Geist lite from Beat Magazine on Facebook

http://bedroomproducersblog.com/2014/06 ... eist-free/

IIRC Geist Lite doesn't have multiple outputs, so you can't route different slices to different effect chains.

For free the best option would be TX16Wx Software Sampler that can auto slice loops, but you have to check the manual on how to do it, it's not that straight forward. Good old Shortcircuit (32 bit only) was great for manual slicing.

Sugar Bytes Artillery?

Post

isn't artillery and effects thing? i think it is.
also, i would also recommend the TX16w - it does a lot and slicing is pretty straight forward once you get your head around the workflow and the version i have is a freebie. i find it a lot easier to use compared to more heavyweight stuff like kontakt etc..

Why not get devine machine? Ok , it's not supported anymore, but it's the best.
It's so powerful that I cannot find a youtube video 'bout it :)
