2016, here we come.

Post

Wait... what happened to Christmas ??

Post

I'm new here - when it will be out?

:hihi: :hihi: Just kidding! :)

I will buy it when it's out just for the sake of it being released :). Saving my money for the year 2525! :tu:

It's difficult to resist the temptation to squeeze every great idea into the initial release - and I've done enough of that already. I have some great plans for scriptable hardware controllers a-la-Bitwig, but have had to fight the temptation to include it it in the initial release and accept that some things, however cool, may be best saved for v1.1!
Architect, the modular MIDI toolkit, beta now available for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

I wish there would be a CLI version too. :D
You can't always get what you waaaant...

Post

Colin, what are your plans so far concerning Aspect 2?
Will you work on this upgrade between Epoch 1.0 and Epoch 1.1?

Post

Aspect 2 is one of a handful other partially complete projects that have kindly taken a back seat whilst their bigger brother gets the parental care it needs. Once v1.0 of this mammoth project is in the wild, all these other projects will get the full attention they deserve, Aspect being the priority, and I'm pleased to know that updates for synth plug-ins take a heck of a lot less development resources than writing modular MIDI sequencing programming languages from scratch!

Thanks a lot for this information!
I'm looking forward for both Epoch V.1 and Aspect V.2.

Is Epoch across Mac and Win - I am almost certainly switching to Mac (after 30 years on Microsoft) after Xmas

Post

You know, at this point I'm wondering if you should just go with Epoch as the name after all. I've completely forgotten whatever that other product was that came out with the same name. With several years in between, I doubt there would be much confusion. And I think that for everyone following this topic, your program is still effectively named Epoch. Just my two cents...

Mac, Windows, & Linux. Potentially, I'll do a Pi build at some point down the line, but again: fun diversions can wait until after release!
