send midi to Egoist iOS bass?

I'm wondering if I can send midi to the bass in Egoist iOS. I've been able to send the bass midi out to an external DAW (cool!). Just wondering if I can use a midi keyboard controller to play the bass in Egoist, rather than using the step sequencer.
