They do give the option of downloading it without Continuata (though I did not try that).

Good to know... I got all four rars with the app after never receiving direct links, but the drive I was trying to squeeze it all onto ran out of space... should be able to just unrar them without going back to the continuapp, I hope.

Was there another heavyocity freebie, say within the last year or so... thought I had at least one, but couldn't find anything when I looked briefly.

Yes, I had no problem unpacking them on a separate HDD not using Continuata Connect, but Winrar offline

I tried mine and it's working - i think the link is different for every order . Maybe they need some time to set it up hopefully
