Well I guess we go into 2016 then.
I started this thread in early 2012 and we are about to go into 2016! It's really a truly bizarre situation and the bizarrest thread I ever started. Maybe it's time to come clean now or maybe as the thread starter I should do the decent thing and delete the thread?
Lets stop this madness.
Epoch indeed!

That was two years ago...colin@loomer wrote:I'd like to get this out in 2013, and according to my roadmap it's possible, but as you all know by now me and plans do not always agree on how long things will take. Seriously though, I am still aiming for a (late) 2013 public release.carfian wrote:Is there a possibility we will see something in 2013 or is this likely to appear way off in 2014?
What is the current roadmap?

I'm glad I just found out of this program and not 4 years ago. Just got a 15" touch screen for bitwig and expert sleepers modules for my modular instead of a Cirklon. Hopefully this will work good with modular and be a good alternative to the Cirklon accumulators.

That would a be a huge lack of respect for everyone who has shared their time, insight and laughs in this thread. Ask yourself a simple question, does your life depend on this plugin? Will you even be grateful and write that transcendental opus when it comes out? So what it it has taken this long, do you know how difficult it is in life to create truly groundbreaking things, especially when their nature is complex and grand. Not everyone can do it. If you yourself cannot do it, then there is absolutely no need to even criticize the developer for the time it has taken. Have you been to Colin's place and seen him hard at work, to actually feel what it is like and identify with the difficulty, leading you towards a more empathic, understanding and balanced stance?!pinki wrote:Well I guess we go into 2016 then.

I dont't think you can delete the thread "only" locking it.pinki wrote:Well I guess we go into 2016 then.

It has been frustrating/disappoiinting at times as Epoch does sound pretty good and it is definitely very late. But I trust the lateness is pretty much an indicator of how difficult the task has been, technically for sure but also as Colin is just one person putting Epoch together whilst having a life which includes running a business already.HunterKiller wrote:That would a be a huge lack of respect for everyone who has shared their time, insight and laughs in this thread. Looking forward to seeing Epoch come out and there will be huge congratulations from a lot of people when it does

Absolutely: the lateness is simply because it does a lot, and it does it well. If I'd have planned better - or to be honest, if I'd have stuck to the original design rather than evolving the design when things didn't feel right - I'd have had it out two years ago. But there isn't a single change that I've made that hasn't been for the better, and I think releasing a product that didn't do what I - and I imagine most of you - want would be much less respectful than releasing a product late, but feature rich.

Time off? Pah! Actually, I don't think I will be: I'm so close that I'd rather push through and try and get it wrapped and onto Santa's sleigh. Ho ho ho indeed!
(But thanks for the concern, I do appreciate it!)

Well, I'll raise a glass or two in your honour and possibly an occasional mince pie - I have the slush fund waiting for the imminent purchase as well (unless anybody has stupidly cheap bargains in the new year sales...)

Cheers, Koalaboy. I've got a few slightly hairy issues to fix this weekend - one with undoing creating controller mappings, and another with the debugging console - and I must say that your support has inspired me to get coding (as opposed to surfing KVR & YouTube). So here's a glass to you too!

Good times for tackling "hairy problems": Bears are asleep now...
While I settled on Processing, Reaktor 6 and Falcons Lua for tackling my imminent Midi Mangling needs, I keep a warm place for Epoch open, hoping it will unleash some greater inspirational waves...
Happy holidays!
Cheers,
Tom
