Probably it depends on how many Waves plugins you have.
Edit: or not...
@raymondwave: as fas as I understood the sentence you quoted was talking about capped price situation only, so it could depend on time.

Thanks, this solved it! Everything working now and sounding good.Ridan wrote:Had a somewhat similar problem a while ago but with Element 1 and Codex licenses just not showing up at all even though i followed the step by step instructions.tnipe wrote:Anyone having trouble updating? I'm getting a message saying that the Element 2 license is missing even though the 2.0 license is posted to my computer. I've been trying to send the license back to the cloud then back to the computer again, reinstalling etc but no luck so far.
Just deleted, and uninstalled the products (including Waves Central) downloaded, and reinstalled. Everything worked perfectly after that. Not sure if that was the best, or quickest solution, but it did the trick.

As I understand the message I got from Waves today
It is a nice gesture by them that they let those who have paid WUP for Element v1 to get v2 for free

Asked the support and it does indeed apply to capped price only. So the longer you delay WUP renewal, the more it'll cost, if it's less than the capped price.sonicpowa wrote:Probably it depends on how many Waves plugins you have.

In the top bar, Midi, Arp-seq and Tempo are related to the preset (if they are checked). If they are unchecked, they will stay the same and won't change.BasariStudios wrote:I noticed that Element 2 has a Limiter on the out, internal, i don't remember if 1 had one, you can not go into red now. Also, Element 2 does not remember MIDI Learn, you set, you change a patch and its gone.
The differences between the two versions you can find it in the manual Section 5.2 Element 1 vs. Element 2.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I don't know if you need to go this far, but it's good that its working for you.Ridan wrote:Had a somewhat similar problem a while ago but with Element 1 and Codex licenses just not showing up at all even though i followed the step by step instructions.tnipe wrote:Anyone having trouble updating? I don't know if you get a new serial number, but it definitely should now show as Element 2.0 amongst your licenses.

After spending some nice hours with the two Elements, I came to my first conclusion. E2 is definitely sounds with more presence, details and more analogish than E1.
E1 sounds 'milder' but still sounds nice and sweet. Some patches are better with E1 in reality. I liked the sweet sequences and some calm or dreamy pads more with E1 than E2, but that is absolutely the weakest point in both! Some beefy pads are nicer in E2.
The nice thing about Element (1 and 2) is that, it has its own character. I can't describe it, but it is different than any synth I have, and E2 kept it that way.
The over all sound is very different from E1, but that is due to the new engine with some old parameters. The filter is different and the unison has more variation, but I believe the filter has the main influence in this version, which sounds great
CPU usage is not that problem really, especially it is not Pads machine, so mostly I'll use it for Mono Seq, Bass and Leads which mostly will be Mono anyway! E2 will be the main one, while E1 will be for milder sounds.
GUI is mostly the same but I still like E1 colours more. That doesn't mean I don't like the new colours or knobs. It is just E1 colours are more comfortable to look at.
Anyway, in the end, it is a great synth. I love it. It is very inspiring as well, although it has many famous flavours of the 80's era (like Duran Duran ..etc). So, it is better to start my own presets from scratch for more original inspiration

Too each their own. They're among my favs and really sing if given the chance.TheoM wrote:considering they don't actually work like the compressors they "emulate", the $52 might have been spent better elsewhereBasariStudios wrote:Same for me, i got like 47$ Voucher and bout CLA Compressors for like 52 bucks...lol.jacqueslacouth wrote:I renewed my WUP to get Element 2 then got a Waves voucher equal to the price of the WUP....nice
sorry for being a dick, i just really dislike cla.. my least fave 1176/la2a emus around.
Every hardware box is different. No box was made the same. They didn't have the same stringent component standards we had to day. 1176s were especially big culprits.
Even then components always do different things to sound when they start to fatigue. Some may have had components replaced, which will alter their sound. You can find a bit of material on the web concerning all this.
Its tough competition every dev would be working their hardest to get as close as possible to the device they are modelling. I firmly believe that's exactly what all the devs do.
The difference in the tonality is a result of the different device they modelled

Element 1 ended up never being used in any of my productions , still was curious for V2.
I paid the WUP and tried Element 2 ... I still think it sounds like Sh*t.
My copy is for sale if anyone is interested
