Mxxx newbie help, basic routing

I have watched several youtube videos on Mxxx and read some tutorial linked from the homepage, but I still haven't figured out how to do some of the most basic stuff. I know the learning curve of meldas plugins are rather steep, but the quality and flexibility of these plugins make me very decisive in climbing the threshold.

So.. The way of controlling the signal flow in Mxxx is not clear or intuitive enough to me. I can't even figure out how to do a LR to MS split and then join it back with MS to LR directly. I've tried fiddling with the 'steal the input' option, but haven't figured it out. I'm sure it's super easy once you understand the logic and the interface. Is there some tutorial that will guide me exactly how to do this simple task, or similar? I can't find any preset that would give me a clue.

(PS. My first Mxxx attempt will be to make a 'stereo stabilizer', making L and R always having the same volume by making the panning follow the volume difference between L and R. Probably needs inertia as well, to be musical)

OK, so "LR to MS" and then "MS to LR"

There are 6 "lanes" from top to bottom. Place "LR to MS" in lane 1.
Now underneath that you can do whatever you wish. Keep in mind now that lane 1 is MID and lane 2 is SIDE.
After you have finished doing whatever and you wish to connect them back together.
Place "MS to LR" in lane 1. Right click on it and select 1 as the input and "steal the input", select the sidechain as 2 and "steal the sidechain".

Thanks a bunch guys! Things are getting clearer. I still didn't quite manage to do something simple like muting the M channel, but I'll get there!

I just finally realized how "steal sidechain" works after reading the responses here, so thanks for posting. I've tended to just move on to something that makes sense to me and leave the stuff that didn't for figuring out later.

For muting a lane you can simply insert a Utility module and turn down the volume in that, here you need to insert it before everything's converted back from MS offcourse. There's guaranteed to be a bunch of other ways but that should be one.

Yes, that's right. However it can be a little long winded to turn up and down the volume of the utility. I prefer to turn the volume down all the way and then double click on the utility to enable / disable it. This acts like a mute switch.
